Our 15 years in Chicago was the days of our early family creation, so we didn't get out as much as we thought we would when we first moved there, but we did get to enjoy some of its amenities.
We hold this stuff to be evident, that all persons other than white males are created collective; that they are enabled by their victimhood with certain inevitable privileges; that among these are

The house we live in was built of poured concrete. I figure the "older" part was built some time in the late teens or early twenties of the last century.
I am a healthcare worker and I've seen it all, but I'm still telling myself how lucky we are to be born now and not then when it comes to trauma treatment and med field in general.
It's INDEPENDENCE DAY..... Not the 4th of July.
Oh... I see someone's already made that point.

These get me every time. Really liked the son’s reaction.
Also, bob, the May wallpaper is pretty – and really looks like Great Aunt Edna’s wallpaper.

Morning, Glories! Just finished reading the Vic News, lost in the clutter of the ONT after-party, and about to check out MisHum's mystery links. Meanwhile...
Your "eau de irony" news for the night:
A rapper on Chicago's South Side was shot and killed early Tuesday morning while rapping about guns for a music video in a local park.
Returned from the morning thread, where I saw that the Civil War was being re-fought. Again. Always ejjimicational.

Twenty-two years ago, tonight, our family arrived in Oklahoma, moving from Chicago. Back to Oklahoma for me & Milady, first residence change for our three Chicago-born kids.
I would have a Guiness, but we don't have any, and it's Oklahoma on Sunday, so I can't get any. Tecate it is, then.

We moved the family from Chicago to Oklahoma with some thoughts of better surviving the possible coming collapse.
All the things I had in mind to prepare? Unrealized.

Vic: 6 trucks and a car doesn't sound like a hunting accident. Dad's story is not plausible.
US Highway 75 is the corridor that connects here to Tulsa. It's how I go to visit Mom. Along the way is a major Wal-Mart distribution center, so you see their trucks constantly.
Also, it struck me today - the headline I saw said McConnell said that a SCOTUS approval should wait until after the election.
Not after the inauguration. After the election.
B4 this thread gets stomped, thought I'd repost my 1st comment of the day from the early thread:
Got to thinking... (always dangerous...)
