Our low-watt college radio station broadcast on 88.1, bottom of the FM band. Audio for broadcast TV channel 6 is just below that.
My daughter is traveling with my Mom, staying in a hotel in Calif. Daughter texted me:
Did you know tv news is insane propaganda? Insane, useless propaganda?
Driving home as the storms start to roll in, lots of lightning and thunder, wind picking up. Tornadoes and storms have been reported all day all around us.
Not going to link story, just wanted to enter this headline as another exhibit in the decay of our civilization:
Speaking of being written out of shows reminds me of

Obnoxious: "...You do know that he did not say that any more than Sarah Palin said that she could see Russia from her house?..."
Pardon me for commenting after only having read the first few paragraphs of your latest grand opus, boss.

Daughter, Milady, and I just recently watched the first Hopalong Cassidy TV show. Didn't seem to be cut up from a movie, but I hadn't been thinking about it.
Since I ranted about this point, here's I Hate The Conservative Media

Shoog? Okay, thanks. I yam slightly less culturally naive.
One of the things about reading a lot but ignoring Mass Media is that I don't always know how things are pronounced.
There’s a lot of funny stuff in the “it will go by too fast, one time, no one will ever notice” category from the days before home players, before re-runs, and when movies only came around once.

Dick York (Mk.I Darrin)
Wasn't he Mk II?
Nora Dunn did a song parody about him based on "New York, New York." It's up to you, Dick York, Dick Yorrrrrk.
Never saw it, but, what part of a show named "Glee" would you ever think was not going to be ghey? #JustIfying
186 Mindful,
It is not. I hopped back into twitter. We must fight in the alternative media.

Great idea! Let me cancel... wait, the cable is just for Internet. Okay, I'll take down my antenna... no, I don't have one. Cut the satellite dish? Did that many years ago. Cancel the newspaper? Never subscribed. Newsmagazines? Nope. Doggone it! Every time someone comes up with a good boycott, I'd have to start getting the thing in order to drop it! :(
What's on my mind today, besides sorrow for the dead, wounded, and emotionally traumatized of Norway, is how "one thing pushes out another" as Mr Butterburr said.

I idly wondered where the "gang of six" meme came from.
Great graphic, Chrissy! I'd forgotten those older covers from the sold-for-a-buck Newsweek.
It's not easy to get a new Internet meme going.
