…On this day in 1913 the Sixteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution was ratified, authorizing the Federal government to impose and collect an income tax. This also had the ultimate effect of shifting power permanently from the States to the federal government. When combined with the 14th amendment and a court full of nanny state leftest black robes the States no longer had any authority over anything that congress decided to get into. John Adams and the Federalists finally got what they wanted, an all powerful central government.
Vic's links re-posted here.
…On this day in 1887 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania the first Groundhog Day was observed. I suspect he whole thing started as a tourist gimmick. In any case the weather forecast for Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania today is cloudy with snow. So no shadow and an early Spring. Of course with global cooling going on since 1998 AOS Moron Vic predicts more snow and a late Spring.
…There are many more revelations coming from other sources that will completely unglue the already unglued Democrats faster than Palsi Pelosi's World War One surplus Dentu-Grip failed her crumby, novelty store wind-up teeth.…
…On this day in 1996 The Communications Decency Act was passed by the U.S. Congress. This act outlawed internet porn. The ACLU sued and SCOTUS struck the act down in 1997.…
The Democrats treated George W. Bush shabbily for eight years because they never got over his refusing to let Al Gore steal the 2000 election. Their souls are empty, so they lash out at anything that doesn’t comport with whatever beliefs they have. But there has never been the volume of visceral rage against a single human being that they display against Donald Trump. Their behavior last night was nothing short of reprehensible. They refused to stand for any reason, including for our troops.…

…On this day in 1916 in Brushaber v. Union Pacific Railroad Co., the SCOTUS declared the federal income tax constitutional. The first time it had been enacted it was struck down as unconstitutional, however at the beginning of the progressive era in 1913 the progressives wrangled the 16th amendment though. It was the biggest mistake this country ever made.…
… On this day in 1964 the 24th Amendment to the United States Constitution, prohibiting the use of poll taxes in national elections, was ratified. The problem with this amendment was the 'or other' they tacked on to the end of the writing. I have no problem with eliminating 'poll taxes' but it has long been my belief that all voters must have some stake in the system by being required to be paying taxes before they can vote…
In keeping with my policy, I’m not posting any links to the ongoing investigations going on in Congress because there’s really no point. We’ve found what we all knew to be true, that Obama didn’t have a presidential administration, but a criminal enterprise. Using phony information to spy on Trump people, collusion between the White House, FBI, and DOJ to make sure Hillary would never be charged with anything; Lynch announcing she’d abide by whatever decision Comey came to when she was told months earlier what the outcome of the sham investigation would be. Felonies piled on felonies. It’s laughable to think that any investigation will result in any indictments. Even if they were, you’d never get a judge or jury in DC to convict a Democrat. So it’s all bullcrap. Enough said.…
…I am going to use the same 'on this day' as last year because it was such a momentous thing.
On this day in 1973 the Supreme Court delivered one of its worst decisions in history. The black-robed idiots gave us Roe v. Wade (and Doe v. Bolton). This 7-2 decision legalized elective abortion in all fifty states.…

Ever the provocateur, the president yesterday released his much-anticipated list of “Fake News Award” winners. They were posted on GOP.com and the site summarily crashed from the surge of traffic. The media’s reaction was, as always, predictable. Rather than keep you in suspense, here’s the list and the ensuing fallout…
…On this day in 1998 Matt Drudge broke the story of the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky affair on his Drudge Report website. But it was only about sex.
Being a Democrat means you don’t need a conscience or a moral compass. You cater to the ignorant, the lazy, and the morally reprehensible. …
…On this day in 1919 the Eighteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, requiring Prohibition in the United States one year after ratification it was ratified by the State legislaters. It was in effect for 19 years and was repealed with ratification by the States' voters directly in 1933 by ratification of the 21st amendment. Ratification by the legislatures would have failed since they were still controlled by the prohibitionists.

…On this day 1971 in a great travesty of justice the liberal wing of SCOTUS ruled 5-4 to overrule the conviction of murder by a serial killer in NH. Their ruling was based on excluded evidence found in his car after a search they deemed unlawful because the search warrant was issued by the State AG acting as a justice of the peace.…
