…On this day in 1767 surveying for the Mason-Dixon line separating Maryland from Pennsylvania was completed. This border between MD and PA later became the defacto border between the Northern States and the South. I would say that demarcation should shift South a great deal and include the Eastern 1/3 of VA in the North now.
