…The mayor of Cannes has banned the wearing of burkinis on his city’s beaches. He says the Muslim swimwear is a violation of morals and secularism. Human rights groups in France say the mayor has unfairly stigmatized Muslim women, and that his decision plays right into the hands of the Islamic State.

In other news, Bulgaria is concerned that migrants who are being thwarted in their efforts to get into Europe via more westward routes will use the Bulgarian route instead. As a result, the government is building a twenty-mile wall along its border with Turkey.…
