When a would-be bicycle thief attempted to steal a woman’s bicycle in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart in Oregon, the owner screamed to attract bystanders’ attention. One of the bystanders, a local cattle rancher, saw the thief getting away and responded by climbing on his horse and chasing after him. When the rancher closed in on the young miscreant, he lassoed him with his rope and held him until the police arrived a few minutes later.

In other news, a Dutch woman in Qatar who was arrested in March after she reported being raped will appear in court on a charge of having sex outside of marriage.…
