Why is Obama helping Al-Qaeda in Libya? Why is America helping terrorists who fought against the US in Iraq and Afghanistan? Does a country run by Al-Qaeda-linked terrorists run more efficiently than a country run by an anti-American megalomaniac? Do we have any assurances that Al-Qaeda will not end up in control of Libya? Did Obama ask any of these questions before he rushed into war?

There are so many other women, like the nameless, anonymous readers who have emailed me, sharing their stories, sometimes for the first time. Many of these women were Leftists who turned conservative because of harrowing experiences in radical movements. Was Stanley Ann Dunham one of them; was she a brainwashed victim of a Communist upbringing? Or was she simply an independent thinker, who willingly and happily forged her life's path?

The Obama administration reportedly is considering former Clinton administration official Jamie Gorelick, among others, to become the next director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).... served as vice chairman of the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae) when the government-sponsored enterprise began bundling subprime loans into securitized financial instruments... best known for her 1995 memo, written when she was deputy attorney general, that later became known as "Gorelick's Wall," a policy prescription limiting the flow of information between intelligence gatherers and criminal investigators that some believe helped allow the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center to go unchallenged....

Commenter Sam St.Croix: The Obama's are self-absorbed bigots. The chip on their shoulders is their badge of pride. They are an evil pair who hate mainstream American values and are determined to destroy America's economic superiority. A more ignorant couple has never resided in the White House. They are having a great time shamelessly flaunting the spending of taxpayer money on vacations and diversions during the current recession, while most of the rest of the citizenry are forced to cut back and make do with less.

Obama closed Friday's remarks by saying, "I've taken this decision with the confidence that action is necessary, and that we will not be acting alone. Our goal is focused. Our cause is just. And our coalition is strong." Nearly a decade earlier, when President George W. Bush announced that U.S. forces were launching military strikes in Afghanistan, Bush said: "To all the men and women in our military ... I say this: Your mission is defined. Your objectives are clear. Your goal is just." Bush used similar wording in other remarks at the time. Also on Friday, Obama said, "The United States did not seek this outcome. Our decisions have been driven by Qaddafi's refusal to respect the rights of his people and the potential for mass murder of innocent civilians." On Oct. 7, 2001, Bush said of operations in Afghanistan, "We did not ask for this mission, but we will fulfill it. ... We defend not only our precious freedoms, but also the freedom of people everywhere to live and raise their children free from fear." The senior White House official said "any similarity is coincidence," adding that neither Obama nor his speechwriters reviewed Bush's remarks from Oct. 7, 2001.
