…When Bevin ran for governor, he positioned himself as a man who would stand up to federal overreach. He famously said the state should tell the EPA to “pound sand.” So signing a bill to implement an unconstitutional national ID system was not going to play well with the grassroots that supported his candidacy.
As momentum built against REAL ID, the Kentucky’s GOP held its state convention and nearly 600 delegates voted almost unanimously to tell Bevin to veto REAL ID.

There were riots in Los Angeles, following the acquittal of police officers charged with excessive force in the beating of Rodney King. Over the next three days 53 people were killed and hundreds of buildings were destroyed. These riots were the direct outgrowth of the edited beating of King that was shown on TV news over and over. The video made it look like the police beat King for no reason at all. The jury saw the entire unedited video that showed he started the fight with the cops and that is why they acquitted. The press should have been charged for these riots and the riots over the Michael Brown shooting.…

Donald J. Trump’s foreign policy address was delivered with the aid of a teleprompter and written by his pro-Russian advisers. He took no questions. It was a replay of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s disastrous Russian “reset” that led to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Yet, Trump pretends to be an opponent of Mrs. Clinton’s foreign policy.
We clearly saw the influence of Trump’s pro-Russian advisers in the speech. There was absolutely no recognition of the Russian threat to Europe, including its invasion and occupation of Ukraine.
Even our media couldn’t ignore this blatant omission.…
…Trump used a prepared speech and teleprompters yesterday. He mispronounced ‘Tasmania’ and stumbled left and right. He talked about reducing weapon stockpiles. Opposing Tyranny
In a huge victory for religious freedom and civil liberty, the Oklahoma House of Representatives voted this week to provide an exemption to biometric collection, retention, and storage for state-issued drivers’ licenses and ID cards. SB 683 also directs that the biometric data previously collected from exempted persons be wiped from the database.
The bill, which now goes back to the State Senate, where it is expected to pass, will bring Oklahoma into compliance with the Federal Real ID law, but protect its citizens from having to obtain a biometric ID. House sponsor Jon Echols explained that while the bill does bring the state into compliance with federal law, those individuals who opt for a traditional ID would not be able to board a plane using that form of ID. But they could use an alternative form of ID, such as a passport.…

The debate over Donald J. Trump’s charges of a “rigged” Republican primary system demonstrates that Trump wasn’t a Republican to begin with. As a Democrat who became a Republican just to seize the nomination, he seems to have had no understanding of how the Republicans operate and manage their presidential nominating process… Rush Limbaugh and Joseph Farah maintain that Trump, the master of complex real estate deals, completely understood the Republican rules but chose to ignore them so that he could accuse the GOP of being corrupt.
