Back from checking out the morning thread. Meh. No Vic News for Christmas Eve. Guess that's okay. He had to anniversarize, after all.

Here's an hour-long video about the Apollo 8 mission (with too much Walter Cronkite, apparently the only news anchor in existence in 1968, but otherwise watchable). The moon landing the next year gets all the historic glory, but this was the first time people went to the moon. I watched it twice yesterday. Very moving. And Christmasy. Even religious! Also, lots of people smoking right there in mission control!
