Yardstick for Measuring Truth

Agent Cooper: The kind and loving God I was taught about would NEVER do an awful thing like this.

Ever since I was a yout' in the pews, I've found that the standard of Jesus' teachings about the nature of God was a good yardstick for measuring truth.

Never having been a Biblical Fundamentalist, I peruse scripture looking for truth, not presuming it's all factual.

Questioning not just the Absoluteness of the Bible and some Christians' interpretations thereof, I've even been told I can't be a Christian. By some standards, I'm not; fine; I leave whether that matters up to Christ.

But seems t'me like God is consistent but our view of God has grown, however gradually, over time.

Reminds me of what Mark Twain said about how, when he was a young fellow, his dad was the stupidest man alive, but when Twain grew up, it was amazing how much the old man had learned...!
