The Nitrogen Solution

Again: never have nitrogen in an enclosed space -- there is no lead-up or warning, because it's 70% of air to start with. CO2 will cause panting and suffocation panic; helium will cause squeaky voices and other "WTF is going on?" phenomena.....but nitrogen is "clunk." YOUR SAFETY IS #1.

This made me think of the ongoing debate about uncruel and usual methods of execution. Nitrogen is cheap & plentiful. Am I missing something here?
