rickb223: Always give pets one syllable names. Much easier to yell "MAX!" when you are chasing them down the street than "Bartholomew Wainscot!"

At least one syllable that's hard and loud.

There's the old story about the kid who told his dad the dog's name was Bark. Dad didn't think about it much until one evening when he's standing on the back porch and realizes the neighbors are hearing him going, "Bark! Bark! Bark!"

Milady says her (late, sainted) mother used to really feel stupid calling their dog, "Firpo."

My pets say, quit chatting and feed us, hoomaan!
