Just peeked back a few minutes ago at the page that had been up and found The Wall of Text. Took the record for the longest non-troll non-spam comment, right?

I have thanked Pantzaretorn (whatever) for the long ones, which make my occasional accidental verbiage-overflows comparably concise. But this thing made Panz's longest comment look like a tweet.

I knew what I'd see when I reloaded, so I saved the page before reloading. Might even read that thing some day. Except I glimpsed the end. Sigh.

As for the snippage, if y'gotta snip, that was a courteous enough way to do it, I'd say. Firm but friendly.
