Jack Report

Vic: "Slow Monday, not much out there."

Weekend calm before the Monday storm.

Morning, Glories from Oklahoma, outpost of civilized America.

Jack, the old cat our daughter left with us years ago is not eating. Doesn't seem to be in any pain. Maybe feasting on rodentia when we're not looking, but I don't think so. His breath smells sick, too. Not eating is not good. So, heading to the vet in a few minutes.

This old guy used to belong to a trucker. Well traveled. As my daughter says, the cat had been to more countries than I have. I know he's appreciated getting to retire to a country place with regular mealtimes - he had some erratic owners before my daughter got him. He's big, super mellow, gets along with all others. I have called him the Bouncer after some bouncers I've known, because when another cat misbehaves, I've seen mellow Jack transform into the Enforcer. He is respected.

Hope it's just the heat or something he'll get over. Seventeen years old, though. Good kitty.
