Christmas in Bartlesville

Downtown park has a "Festival of Lights." Lots of displays, some animated, created entirely with twinkle lights. Santa stuck in the chimney, Santa in a bi-plane (local history big on aviation, eg Wiley Post), melting snowman, deer leaping over the roadway, and, yes, a creche. Hosted by a local church.

Christmas parade is tonight. Haven't attended since our kids were kids, usually too cold for me, but the weather's been tolerable and I've been thinking about going.

Performance of Handel's The Messiah on Sunday at the Community Center.

Downtown isn't quite as decked-out as it was in its heyday, seems t'me, but still festively bewreathed and lit. Same for homes, depending on neighborhood. Some just haven't got their lights up yet.

(And while it's not a serious concern, if some muslin atrocity types show up at the parade, I'm confident there's many a citizen prepared to exercise 2A rights in response.)

Merry Christmas!
