Couldn't watch the whole thing. Ugh.

Ann's assessment brings to mind the old saying, when a pickpocket looks at a saint, all he sees are the pockets. Of course successful, popular, sweet-spirited Palin would look like a money-grubbing charlatan to Ann's eyes.

Had to write Ann off a while back. Too bad her sometimes-excellent wit isn't seasoned with true wisdom. In fact, with self-hatred like Ann's, she seems a liberal in conservative's clothing. Which would explain her support of Obromeney.

Hello, Moonbatterers!

Folks rightly take poor, confused Mr Suelo to task for his spongiferous support system, his abusing public places, etc. Everyday addlepatedness aside, these represent his confusion over "cashlessness." (Heh. Just the other day, I was carefully explaining to a 1st grader niece how trade is trade, money's just a storage medium. Not sure she got it, either.) As Chris in VA put it, "just an eccentric, hermitic moocher."

Not to excuse any of that, but the article says he's trying to be Christian and taking no government handouts. Those two factors separate this loner from the Government-as-God mobsters. I'm certainly not following, but for all his flawed economic ideas and not-all-that-unique religious idea about cash, he at least leads by example, as someone upstream suggested. That's kind-a important to me; he does not appear to be one of the tyrants who want to dictate that I have to live their way! :D

47 Pew survey of sharks:

88% will circle in a frenzy when there is chum/blood in the water.

Chipmunks? Only 9%

Wait.. um... I have trouble with statistics. Is that Chipmunks circling in the water for chum/blood, or is it 88% of sharks will circle.. when there's chipmunks in the water?

At first, it's just foam and seagulls. Then, around 0:30, you can really start to see them swarming around. That's where I began imagining being a little bitty hairless ape bobbing around out there. URK!

This is why I don't watch Discover Shark TV.

I'm so a landlubber! Just a few miles from the geographic center of the USA, surrounded by seas of... waving prairie grass. Hereabouts, we've got lots of coyote, some bobcat, even mountain lion recently spotted, for the first time since I was a kid. Those I can handle. I'm just grateful there's not really.. what's that scary music? Uh oh..! OH NO! Land Sharks! AHH AHHHHHHGG...

Hello, Ace's place. Haven't had much chance to be around lately. Missing Vic's news posts (HBD!), the fascinating discussions, profoundly stated opinions, and links to pointy-elbowed cheerleaders.

Yesterday, I posted a little 30-sec video effort of my own, my first political-slapstick video for the world. This was inspired in part by the "Santorum Surges" thread back on Valentine's Day, especially making use of a short list of candidates in a comment by Commenter: http://bit.ly/wcBJmW

NB: I am wholly responsible for this video's contents and my "inspirations and sources" should in no way be blamed!

So, for that small connection, it seemed t'me that Ace was a Place I should post notice, just FTR.

#28 : 'stuttering clusterfluke' -- heh heh. I see a new "safe" substitute for the f-word has arisen. Use it often, use it proudly, and get the meme out.

Fluke Obama!
Fluke thieves and tyrants!

Yeaaahh. That works. True, when voiced, "fluke's" hooting oo vowel isn't as expressive as the classic grunting short-u, but it is similarly preceded by a toothy fricative and succeeded by a crisp voiceless velar plosive, lending it much of the same gut-satisfaction. But if you find yourself among language-sensitive company, especially those sensitive liberal types, be sure to remember you have at your disposal a polite substitution.

And have a fluking nice day!

As he was leaving for work just now, my son noted, Conan has a big long sharp thingy and Tarzan doesn't even have his little short sharp thingy. Don't see this ending well for the ol' Jungle King.

Gave up reading comments somewhere in the 180s.

If you use Liq Plumber DO NOT pull the plug out or use a snake afterward, and if after Liq Pl you call a human plumber, TELL HIM (or her) that you used LP because getting backsplashed with that stuff is NOT fun.

And I thought the guy said someone gave his son a MORONETTE and never having actually met one, I wondered WHAT strings....

Saaaay good night, Gracie!

Really can't complain. 1yr & 1wk ago -- housebound by snow for 3 days!

Carry on, nightowls.

Okay, don’t know if you’ll see this addition to more-than-week-old thread but I just found it.

If that works, it’s done thusly: ♥

See A list of HTML Symbol Entities Reference. Also handy is HTML ISO-8859-1 Reference, which also has links to similar pages. Another handy page — sometimes URLs have characters in them that some websites (like mine) won’t accept (e.g. ü). This page has a form which can fix such URLs (e.g. %C3%BC).

Am I showing my age if I say the first thing I thought of was Annette (the Mickey Mouse ears, you see)?

But what I really noticed was, it looks to me like she's about to rip into the cloth, too. Oh, well, as Alex noted, the wet probably ruined it anyway...

Oh! wet... dream... surely that association was... accidental...

But we don't need this primitive idea anymore. It's so last century. We have those giant long-wave weapons that can cause earthquakes and volcanoes anywhere on earth, doncha know. Tesla rayguns like the one that caused that big Siberian explosion early last century, only bigger and more powerful. And.. and.. wait, I forgot the rest. Got to go watch some more fringe conspiracy yootoobs.

Japanese chicks using the V thing for some reason. It's actually interesting to note (ok, just us NEEERRRDS) that Korean and Taiwanese youngsters started adopting that kind of cutesy posing shit in the last 15 years ...

(I would so make a great CIA analyst, emphasis on the anal.)

Kids, with modern LED monitors, there's no longer a danger of x-rays, so come right up to the screen. Clo-o-oser! There's not enough static electricity on LED monitors to hold your magic window, but fortunately the modern LED screen is made of a special substance that wipes clean easily with any ammonia-based window cleaner, even if you use permanent-ink markers. Go ahead! Try it!
