Think I'll go brush the tooth and crawl under the covers. Tomorrow should be a long, busy day.

Good night, Gracies, and remember, Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Just walked to the kitchen and refreshed my beverage with the Fuzzy Yellow Fellow curled in my arm as if utterly asnooze. Managed the refill and sat back down at the desk. Then tried to move my arm out from under him -- flurry of claws and teeth! How dare I remove myself from the full cuddling position! (Never breaks the skin, though.)

Home home on the range. No herd of cattle bellyaching tonight. Really still & quiet. "A little too quiet..." Well, except for the occasional arf of Defender Doggie, doing his job as he sees it.

Catching up, I read some excellent comments tonight. Very moving. I mean of course Jim in Galveston #335 and Don Q #340.

Can't believe tomorrow's countdown by JJ Sefton will be 1.

The we have to make it 74 days to the inauguration. I won't feel safe then, but I'll feel a lot safer after Trump's sworn in. (Recalling my tremendous relief the day GW Bush was sworn in, knowing that whatever else he might be, we would have no bimbos under the Resolute Desk with GWB. And we didn't.)

So, about cooking & cleanup... This is a tough one.

Milady is an excellent chef, while I'm only a passable cook (thanks to 40 years of learning from her). I do most of the clean-up -- it's mostly worth it as trade-off.

And she often does the larger and messier stuff anyway, like the hard-to-clean Cuisinart after making sunflower seed butter which we do frequently, or like last night, cleaning the oops-she-forgot-to-grease-the pan after making her excellent meatloaf.

Used about every measuring utensil in the house, though.

I left today before she and daughter were done making a cake. They had to clean up after that one. Later, though, I got cake.

She does all the ironing.... and, back in the day, handled many of the poopy diapers that would drive me out of the room retching uncontrollably. So I'm still paying back on that...!

5.0 earthquake near Cushing OK tonight 7:45 Central STANDARD Time. (Death to DST!) Around 70 miles away as the crow barks. I could tell the building was rattling more than just a truck rolling by on the highway.

Getting pretty used to quake detection. I think this is my 4th one.

Country Singer: I think I found one that can keep up with me mentally. Good vibes so far.

Glad to read this. The happiness of Morons is always important to me. Gives me hope.

Good night, Gracies, from the chorus of cattle castle. Remember, "be of good cheer" ain't just a good idea, it's a command from the Son of God!

Had a midnight burger snack, and a significant amount of recreational beverage, so it's getting close to check-out time for me. Loose enough to annoy y'all with self-promo.

I don't usually "push" my stuff more than one mention, if that, but Mindful Webworkshop, #13, the "Election 2016" episode, is, obviously, kind-of "time sensitive," so I'll mention it again - link in nic to page on my website. Combination of sorta-clever-ish political bits, interrupted by some old, stale political-ish songs. It are what it am. Feel free to link, like, and spread the word... even if you don't like it. My vanity needs the hits.

And if you missed it, the previous episode's "Beast with Four Heads" cartoon, at about 10:45 in the vid, is an amusing shaggy Gothic horror story. (Copy link from nic, substitute 12 for 13 - it's a URL dexterity test.)

"I went mad.... I took an ax...."

Speaking of food...

Milady has whomped up a meatloaf tonight, currently baking, and is now cooking some burgers with the leftover beef. To the accompaniment of a chorus of still-bellyaching bovines out in the pasture. Is that synchronicity or life's circularity? Or just Oklahomaty?

I figure the cattle are complaining because of DST. The rancher tells me that he adjusts them by rotating the tail, clockwise in the Spring and counter-cw in the Fall....

Alberta Oil Peon: Whoever thought that a pig with a soldering iron shoved up its butt was a good idea, even if it was on a clock timer?

Is that like the chicken sitting on a beer can?

Chiming in late on the SF TV comments -

Eureka was not only a good show consistently through its entire run, but had one of the best final episodes of any series I've ever seen. A real salute to the show, its characters, and actors. The crossovers with Warehouse 13 were fun, too.

Sliders, someone mentioned, started out pretty good, and then season by season, then episode by episode, it got worse until it really stank and I think we gave up on it before the end. Especially replacing cast members one by one until none of the originals remained. I though only Brits did that.

Got home a little earlier than usual tonight, with nothing much to do but lounge about on AoS. & stuff.

Second night in a row we've come home to the sound of a buncha bellyachin' bovines. Sounds like prime time at the slaughterhouse. Funniest is when they synchronize: for a moment, there's silence, then they all moo together.

Well, we made it through another season of not having set back our clocks, in the cars, on the mantle, or on the microwave ovens. Computers and cells of course reset automatically, and will do so again tonight... we use them to coordinate with "government" (vs real) time, when we have to.

As Milady said last night, imagine the man- person-hours involved in all the people in the DST states who, twice a year, run around resetting the time? All so the Power can be proven to not lie with the People! (Pumps freedom-rebel fist in air.)

Hi, Garden people. I don't know if I've ever commented in a gardening thread. Much as I'd like to garden, and every once in a long while have some success, mostly I've got a black thumb.

Son and daughter were sharing a house for a couple of years, and just (Nov 1) moved out to separate apartments. Daughter said she hadn't been able to get anything much out of their backyard garden, until they decided to move and suddenly everything starts popping up.

So, since she has no yard now, she packed what she could into pots and brought it out here to Ranchero Webworker for - presumably - me & Milady to care for. Suddenly in addition to our own few potted peppers, we have many more peppers, many huckleberries, a couple of dying tomatoes, some herbs, carrots, beets, brussels sprouts, and a lot of broccoli, not all of which will survive. All in pots, stacked out by the BBQ pit, waiting for Winter....

Sorta wish we had a good greenhouse...!

Siiiigh! Hello.

Technology has been at war with me all week. Haven't been able to keep up with the news, or follow much on Ace, posts or, especially, comments.

Naturally, this is while I'm struggling to get my latest video up prior to the election. Barely made it, got it posted this evening. Webworkshop #13 - Election 2016 Edition. Link in nic. Political satire and commentary, interrupted by three old political-ish songs (demonstrating why I don't do those anymore). Enjoy, spread the word to friends & enemies, embed, like, comment, and donate if you can so I can win the war against crumbling technology.

Now, off to read the no-doubt magnificent ONT post and find out what I've missed during the week. That is, if the computer doesn't fritz out on me again.
