Reading back up-thread a ways...
Miley #633 "...slowly squeezes out a dab of toothpaste onto her toothbrush..."
* whoa *
Cato: ..know-nothing drivel-spigot...
* jots phrase down for future re-use *
So I get home, look back at my comment at #650 and find... much of it is missing. Lucky for y'all. Not that it matters.
"Take heart. You can stay positive." I clicked. Found myself at Cracked, but kept reading anyway. Some okay, mostly meh. Then I got to the top 3, and they're all missing graphics. Yeah, that increases my positivity, all righty... positive I'll skip Cracked next time I see it linked. :-|⊃
Did I miss anything vital in the first 650 comments? And by vital I mean of course amusing or AoSHQ memeworthy?
Wow. If I'd know I'd get so many hits (

Good evening, folks. Nice post, MH. I'll examine what I skipped over, and the comments, more closely when I get home where I'm about to go. Or in the morning if Morpheus wins. Or someday. Or never. You know, whichever comes first. As usual.

Just mentioned and linked this in a comment on an earlier thread, then I get up to this post and find out you already posted it hours earlier. Funny.
Or are you using your time machine again?
On the recount failure in PA... pardon a small self-plugola, but I (for the first time) did a short "Hitler Downfall" take I thought was at least half-witty.
Ashley Judd's: I think if we learned anything this election is that the media is a dying beast.
And, we hope, their Democratic party with them.
I flllfff fisgg gggaa blllassss rum tonight so fffllls bbllsgg mhuhgggannn. And you can quote me on that.

Hitler Finds Out Recount Failed, short version #1

Good night, good people. Head held high. Smile and stike fear. Fear not. All that stuff the good folk say.
garrett #626: "...Stevie Ray do 'Red House'..."
Now that I've got it playing in the background, yeah, I've heard it. Not sure it's better than Jimi's....
Covers.
Read in a morning thread that today, 1965, was the day Rubber Soul was released. Looked at it and thought, not a clunker in the playlist. Then listened to it and thought, it has my least-favorite Beatles song (even below Yellow Submarine, Octopus's Garden, or Mr Moonlight) -- "Run for your life."
Contains the stupidest line, too: "I'd rather see you dead, little girl, than to be with another man." I know it's supposed to mean "than to see you with another man," but it reads like, "than for me to be with another man." Too bad, because, structurally, good song & good tune, but, but, mean.
So, what would be the best Beatles cover? Cocker's Little Help from my Friends does not get counted because, Cocker. ![]()
buzzion #603: "...Trent Reznor said Cash did better than he did...."
Rarely has a cover artist so owned a song. I can think of only Hendrix's Watchtower as comparable.
zettai: "...drove a brand-new car down a mostly dry and rocky stream bed for some distance..."
Reminded of an attempted pot buy in blacktown Little Rock that the three of us dumbass white kids sensed was going badly, so we jumped in my car and fled frantically... down an unfamiliar hill which, we realized too late, ended in a stream at the bottom, not a through street. But it was ice and snow and no way back up the hill, so we got out and pushed that Mustang over the stream, reached pavement, and somehow got the f up the other side and out of there.
Cheech & Chong worthy stupidity.
Bob in Houston #581: "...over the Galveston causeway because the idjit driving got CS powder in his eyes..."
Maybe it's the rum, but I can't think what "CS powder" might be. But that sounds like an emergency situation where the driver gets the dumbass award, not the passenger. Nice work.

Dumbest (non-sexual) think I've done in a vehicle?
Glad "non-sexual" was specified....
Memorably, opening up the 1970 Mustang Mach I (351 4-onna-floor Herst shifter - I used to know what all that meant) on the turnpike from Tulsa to OKC.
Slowing down near OKC, the HiPo picked me up at only just-under 90mph. Lucky me!
Got that out of my system.
Dumber things probably involved alcohol, unzipped pants, and fatigue, if I could remember any of them. I seem to recall a 1400-mile weekend round-trip to visit a girl who, turned out, wasn't interested...

Got me with the ending.

Bete #76: "...used paper towel level membership..."
Heh. That was a new one for me.
At least it wasn't "used 'bathroom tissue' membership." Available to Clinton voters only.
Evening, folks!
Rushed into production just for your edutainment, while I work on a longer version:
Hitler finds out the recount fails, short version #1
(Was I really the first out there with this one? Naw, somebody surely beat me to it.)
Just read elsewhere: "Stein campaign WITHDRAWS PA campaign suit at of 5 pm today."
Hillary Clinton will never be President of the United States.
* happy dance & haw-haw! *
Getting caught up, again, on a few days' posts. I know the day, as a whole, is still the same 24hrs, but why does it seem like they're getting shorter for real? Oh, well, just a few weeks until the solstice.
The last poster: That awkward moment when you spell a word correctly...?
Back before computers, when I still hand-lettered my comics, sometimes, tired, and weary from attempting my careful calligraphy, I could get stuck wondering if I'd spelled "the" correctly. Too close to the material.
Say, you know what? I'll bet that's what happened to poor old President Clinton when he forgot the meaning of "is." :D

"Nestle has developed a chocolate with less sugar."
Well, that's really astounding... not.
Did they just leave out the sugar (aka baking chocolate) or add HFCS, stevia, or some other rat poison sweetener?
(Did not read the link... obviously.)
