There's a bird sanctuary not far from El Rancho Webworker, where they've done a lot toward increasing the eagle population. It's great to be out in the yard and see golden eagles. Saw a pair of bald eagles, not so far overhead one day. Love 'em. Even if they're a potential threat to our kittehs. (Go for the rabbits, bro!)

Then I see windmill parts moving down the highway. Big program to promote eagle cuisinarts here in Okla. I hope we soon outgrow that green-tinged delusion.

Jmel #15: ...My 15 year old daughter has her first boyfriend. ...

I'm sure a shotgun has already been recommended by a Hordeling....

Here, not the video I was looking for, but ... amusing... a bit franker than I would have been with my daughter, but maybe I should've been?

"The young man who learns how to cook well will have
mastered a valuable life skill."

I led a sheltered, liberal-arts-prep-school life when young. It wasn't until I got to college that I realized, hey! I have to wash my own damn clothes! Fortunately, in those pre-Internet days, I was able to track down how-to... on the back of a box of Tide.

But learning to feed myself waited until I departed college for a year's work on my own. l bought a small unit with a stove-top and a toaster-griddle, which I still have somewhere around here, I think, forty-four years later. I was a master of making soup and toast, and eventually got the hang of rice and a few veggies. Cooking meat, though, I left to the local fast-food restaurants.

I might still be a starved, iggerent fool in the kitchen if Milady the Master Chef hadn't come to save me.

By gosh, all of our kids knew how to cook before they left home. And wash their clothes.

Before I settled down to read tonight's ONT, I had to finish getting caught up on Michelle's Mirror, which I had been neglecting since Nov 11.

Did you know "our" creeper got a whole post of congratulations there for her move here to Oklahoma? AoSHQ didn't. (Guess she's not so much "our" creeper.)

Heh.. can you imagine if Ace did a post every time one of the ginormous horde of Morons changed residence or got a job or got married or had a kid or grandkid?

Oh, look! It's an ONT.
Found it just now waiting for me.
But not yet a zillion comments, mon?
Maybe I should leave and come back later on?

Or just read the post...!

chrissythebeautiful, you know Milady & I keep you in our prayers. And… what Ting said!

Here's a video I found (c/o Truth Revolt article "New Crowdfunding Site Supports Moral Causes") that I thought y'all might want to post about.

"The only gift we have is to live for today…"

Snake handling?

I grabbed the momma out of a nest of garden snakes one time. She was unhappy and bit down on herself and drew ... whatever passes for blood in them - which let me illustrate to the three little kiddos that even non-poisonous snakes can give you an owie.

We were tearing down a dilapidated room, and I found two big (4 to 5 foot) brown snakes living in the walls. I just yanked 'em out, grabbed 'em by the neck and hauled them off to the high grass to nest elsewhere. Funny to see the big, tough cowboy who was helping me get almost stand-on-chair squeamish around snakes.

Of course, he's encountered many not-so-friendly ones, and dispatched them timely with his sidearm...

I don't usually think of these incidents as worship, but kinda makes me admire Creation.

Was changing the filter on the furnace and looked at the "Sears Kenmore" nameplate on the 22-year-old unit. Sighed. Won't easily get parts now, I presume.

Keeps right on heating, although one of the four burners sometimes needs to be encouraged to light. Our repairman (who installed it) has replaced the manifold and otherwise fiddled with it, but problem persists. Still, cheaper to hassle with it than to replace the unit!

Now, watch, having praised the old thing, I'll go home tonight to discover it has died. Please, Lord, no! 5°F predicted for the weekend!

This is, perhaps, not entirely off-topic. Just finished reading this before turning back to Ace to see this post.

Dr. Everett Piper of Oklahoma Wesleyan University delivers his commencement address, "The Power of Words."

Education today is clearly in crisis. The contemporary university is no longer known for pursuing truth, but rather, for celebrating tolerance. And in the name of tolerance, we are told our intolerance is intolerable. Education's elites actually parrot this pablum, and they do so with a straight face. It is as if we are watching a dog chase its tail. It would be humorous if this self-refuting duplicity weren't so sad.

Was listening to Kilmeade (I think it was) last night on the drive home, and he remarked that what Trump wants is to shape the briefings to his liking. If repetitiveness is a problem, it may be because for the last 8 years no one was listening. I would wager he isn't missing anything.

Viral story about boy dying in Santa’s arms might not be real

I don't know what to think about this. Just passing it along.

“The News Sentinel cannot establish that Schmitt-Matzen’s account is inaccurate, but more importantly, ongoing reporting cannot establish that it is accurate,” he wrote in the post. “Therefore, because the story does not meet the newspaper’s standards of verification, we are no longer standing by the veracity of Schmitt-Matzen’s account.”

The Post also called about two dozen hospitals in the Tennessee area since Schmitt-Matzen’s story went viral, all of which said they didn’t have any documentation of it happening at their facility.

About the Santa story: I had seen the headline and noted the video, but put off reading or watching, because just the headline was so moving, and this season has my eyes kinda scratchy a lot.

But I finally read the story here. And I'm glad I did. Thanks, Pete.

You don't think the Santa job will ever be that hard, I'm sure. But as Milady said, he did the job right.
