...although all the interesting commenters may be off gardening and footballing...

Just filled out the "felt it" report on a small earthquake just past 10am, here in the nouveau quake capital, Oklahoma. Only 3.0 and many miles away, but I'm getting sensitized to feeling them.

When an invisible hand almost imperceptibly wobbles the desk that sits on a cement pad floor, it's a good sign of a quake.

I've felt more quakes in 2016 than the entire rest of my life - not much of a claim since prior to 2016 my experience was one.

IT'S FUNNY BECAUSE MEMES ARE JOKES THAT GET REPEATED BY MORONS

IT'S FUNNY BECAUSE BEN REPEATEDLY AND BANALLY EXPLAINS JOKES, EVEN WHEN THERE ARE NONE. IN ALL CAPS.

Wouldn't you know that'd be the only reply I get!

[2nd Try: Apparently, I posted under a Pixy-banned AT&T number and it didn't take... sigh!]

Friends, Morons, Patriots, lend my your eyeballs... Um, wait, wrong speech...

I've been lurking of late, and missing much, as pre-Christmas busy-ness became post-Christmas gawdawful sick, precluding much AoS indulgence.

Hope I haven't missed the birth of any new AoS memes.

So, belated Merry Christmas and a barely-in-time Happy New Year to that astonishing pack of personalities that comprise the Horde. Hugs and sympathies for those who suffered loss and setbacks and hugs and congratulations for those who enjoyed success and advances. May 2017 be everyone's best year ever.

[Let's see if that posts...]

Waving hello because it's still morning and still pre-Ace.

It's slight, but progress toward getting up earlier. Maybe now that the days are getting longer 'twill help.

Howdy. (Now back to the Morning Thread to catch up on the world.)

Okay, so, read 150 comments. Got the absurdist nazi footbath thing - as much as it apparently can be got.

Still wondering what the top animGIF is from.

And someone asked what the Queen was grinning at. Whatever, great face.

And I'm not doing well at all on getting to bed earlier so I can get up earlier.

Okay, home. It is good.

Surely these have been asked & answered, but spare me from plowing through 400+ comments to check...

What is the animGIF at the beginning. Guy sorta looks like Don "Maxwell Smart" Adams, but not quite.

And wtf with the Nazi milk(?) foot bath? Ski mask is what really rounds the pic out.

cth: … space was small and I decided a good graphic with an easy to digest message was more important than thoroughness.

Well, sure. Especially if you'd tried to fit in all the state legislatures that got turned.

"thoroughness" - thats what the comment area is for, right?

:D

And I would have been here much sooner, but I stopped to read the morning report, follow several links, and track down Vic's Section B news supplement.

So many things upon which I would've commented if I'd just been there while it was "live." ... Well, somehow the world will struggle on despite that, I suppose.

Still trying to alter my schedule from late-night to early-morning. Hard to do on cold mornings, though. Anyway, in before Ace.

Good morning, magnificent people - at least it still is morning here in Central time zone.

I've really been trying to hoping to shift back to early-to-bed early-to-rise, but it's hard to do when I sit here and read ONT comments endlessly.

But here goes another attempt. I'm not gonna sit here and read ONT comments 'til 3am. Sad as that sounds, missing all the fun.

Carry on, ye wayward 'rons!

Gotta tell this now lest I forget by pet thread time.

This morning, the in-town cat did not run to greet us at the door as he usually does. Turns out he had somehow slipped into the bathroom and was stuck in there overnight. (No soft places to sleep but at least he was warm.)

Tonight, as we were preparing to leave for home, we went to clean the catbox as usual, and found it hadn't been used. Oh, yeah: Because he wasn't loose all night.

So, went to check the bathroom and found... paw prints on a toilet seat and poop in the pot! Really, cat?

So, I'm thinking, put a cat bed in there and put him in the bathroom every night - no more catbox cleaning!

Great use of that overloaded donkey cart picture!

In addition to the House Reps, Senators, and Governors, I think there were quite a few state legislatures that were turned as well.

Oh, yeah -- and that Chief Executive position. :D

Got to change locations. Y'all take care of the blog and I'll try to come back later to see how you did. If I don't get trapped between dimensions.

vertov: For someone of my age the Berlin Wall was simply a fact of life, like the Grand Canyon or Lake Michigan....

I was 9yo when the Wall went up.

Seeing photos of the bodies of attempted escapees hanging on the barbed wire made it clear to me forever that the wall was to keep people in, not out. IOW, prison. (Versus, say, Trump's border wall.)

Our daughter was 9yo when the Wall came down.

The lessons of it were not lost upon my her, either.

I was going to casually point out a slight error in the post, but I see others beat me to it and there is therefore no cause for me to do so.

People with problems sometimes try to self-medicate, but don't realize they are trading temporary relief for long-term problems. This is why it is always best that we only trust the judgment and recommendations of our physicians and pharmaceutical companies.
