Still in transition from overnighter to morningwalker. Starting to get light out, and I think I need to nod out for a few. The animals will wake me when it's feeding time...
Stay shiny, y'all.

With each re-load, the pic up top gets a little weirder looking.
Vic #71: ...Obamacare... idiot Republicans drag their feet with repeal arguing about what to replace it with. It should be obvious that it should be replaced with what we had before, nothing.
My greatest hope on the "repeal and replace" line comes from VPE Pence a week or two back talking about what they mean by "replace." Sounded a lot like what we had before O'care, plus permitting across-stateline coverage.
Vic! Sorry for your bad medical update. Got you in our hearts and prayers, of course.
My oldest brother (73) with untreatable stage 4 terminal cancer riddling his body, went into the hospital a couple of days ago, presumably for the end game. It's really hard on our mom.
Nine years older brother was a pain but also a great inspiration. I'm selfish. I want him to hang around some more.
Want you to hang around some more, too, Vic.
Chi-Town Jerry: "...thanks to Mindful Webworker for the countdown graphics.. I have enjoyed them all week. This one is a classic.."
I had to laugh when on day 3-to-go someone requested the girly bike pic, knowing it was already set to go on day 2-to-go.
My few minutes' work slapping in a few photos together was fun, but Sefton's countdown posters were the basic inspiration.
Complete collection (or will be tomorrow) on my website at

JJ! Gonna miss your alliterative countdown collection.
What a long strange count it's been.
Why it was counting down I will not miss.
I make a special effort to get up early to participate in the EMT and it's not here. Figures.
Howdy, morning walkers. It's cold and dark. How do you do this?
th
You just can't make stuff like this up.
(Apply to just about everything.)
Howdy, ONTers.
Enjoying the pix you have for the countdown posts, cth!
I see, as on Ace, someone here objected to the countdown number of days left.
Reminds me of an argument, 'way, 'way back in the pre-Internet CompuServe days, an atheist regular (!) on Religion Forum objected that Jesus was inaccurate when he said he would rise on the third day, when it was really only the second.
No matter how patiently folks explained it to him - First day: crucified, dead, and buried; Second day in the grave; And on the Third day rose again - the arguer remained unconvinced. Had to start with day Zero he insisted.
Okay, then - Jesus couldn't count, neither can we. :D
47 Nice Photoshop fu on the 4 days pic, JJ.

Howdy, alla y'all.
Since there was no JJ's morning report to show this off today...
Six Days Left

I read that Nobel Peace Prize Pres is the first in history to have had wars going on every day of his Presidency. Quite a record.
Somehow my “thanks for the great report, Pete” part of my comment got deleted.
Thanks for the great report, Pete! :D
Hey, I did these for J.J. Sefton’s Ace of Spades Morning Report, but they don’t own them, so if you want to use them, too, feel free. (Do images show up here with just the URL? I guess I’ll find out.) Anyway, the file names are obama-7.jpg counting down through obama-0.jpg.

Pete:
There are days when it is difficult in the extreme to find the motivation to park in front of this machine and begin my daily sojourn into the belly of the political beast. There was a time a couple years ago when there was a lot of discussion and back and forth on this blog but I suspect most have gotten bored or just lost interest and moved on. Many days it is only through a sense of indebtedness to what this has meant to me keeps me doing it.
Well, sheesh! What a curmudgeon.
I know I've been a lot less active on here, for many reasons, including that I keep falling behind and then don't want to comment too often on days-old posts. Others may have cut back on commenting likewise for "offine life" distractions -- we have just passed that Thanksgiving-to-New Years' busy season, with special added election. Anyway, Pete, don't count the comments & presume you're not being read and appreciated. I look forward to reading every post, news or humor, one-item post or your broader reports.
When we're tired of hearing from you, we'll let you know in no uncertain terms, awrite? :D

Pete: I could fill an entire post with articles about this exercise in sophistry, but I seriously doubt you care, and frankly, I don’t either.
It is true I'm not checking out a lot of the Obammy links and videos -- and same goes for many of the left-centered stories. There's a fresh breeze blowing, and I don't need to keep smelling the same old rot.
That said, I appreciate your collecting these items so I can get the quick gist, and have the option to view the videos if I want to!

Might as well stick this here: Once upon a time there was an excellent and very silly ensemble comedy show out of Canada. Here's an example:

Um... nice post - thanks.
