YOU were that kid? I was the one right behind you. Dang, I wanted that Bozo record player. I've hated you all my life.

Dear CDC,
Our daughter is helping friends who are moving to College Station TX. Should we let her come back to Oklahoma, and if so, how long should she be isolated?
Impatiently,

Well, I see the "died from Ebola" gag already got done twice before comment #25, so I'll just say…
OH DEAR GOD, NOT CREEKY!
I got to the Daily Mail link, but the page doesn't seem to be loading for me. Will try again later at the Real Computer. Thanks.
Colleen, thank you Sherry.
Wait… Aussie, do you have any links for those? We're inside Captive America here, and can only get real news about what's happening, in America, from overseas news agencies.
Sherry McEvil> What I find strange is that there has been not one photo of the ladies attacked on the news.
I've had a mental picture of the murdered woman, based on such women in so many businesses, so I was hoping there would be some Sunday articles about her, but I haven't seen anything on her or the other woman who was attacked.
So far, I've had only secondary sources saying Dorothy (was that her name?) was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, as I anticipated. She and her husband, I read, lost their home in the huge tornado Moore suffered a couple of years ago.
garrett&gf; WHO WAS PRESIDENT?
Alas, this one has an answer.
The difficult time will come when we transition from President Valerie Jarrett to President Huma Abadeen.

Oot! Just got a different, older vid webwork highlighted on Moonbattery and it jumped about 500 views. Heh. My views linegraph looks like flatline, with occasional huge "Moonbattery embed" spikes.
phoenixgirl> did anyone besides the guy with the gun try to help the lady who got beheaded? this is bothering me.......
Huh. I just figured it was a front office, two gals working there, boss was in nearby office. I have wondered if boss came, saw, went back for rifle, or more likely heard screams & brought rifle with him.
Mmm mmm mmm. This halibut sure is tasty mm m. (smack, slurp) Smells great, doesn't it? Yeah. And a fine wine, too. (gulp, guzzle) Snort this bookay. (snurrrrf) Great, huh? So, how's that water?

I remember the good ol' days when folks would post a note about a new thread.

Oh, great. Totes screwed up my first comment. It decided to post itself while I tried to change the nic. Dangerous things, these computers. We need more government oversight!

anon a mouse: "Iraqi Woman holding two bullets that she claims hit her house"
I think those had the same manufacturer as JFK's pristine-looking magic bullet.
Yeah, that was worth the effort to type … not.
Well, anyway, morning, Glories.

"As pro-democracy protesters flood Hong Kong streets, one app in particular is getting plenty of attention: FireChat, a mobile chat app that can work even without an Internet connection. … Since it relies on mesh networking for its 'Nearby' chat mode… works if you're in an area where the wireless networks are congested."

I've thought for some time that cell-to-cell networking may be the workaround when SHTF digitally, but hadn't seen anything of the sort until now. I don't know if "mesh networking" means the same thing, but sounds like a good development.
Did you ever have one of those moments when you think, "why am I sitting here, reading this bizarre bunch of cross-talk conversations?"
Refilling the glass seems to help cure that feeling.
