Just watched the first pitch video, again, with Daughter, a little while ago. The salute graphic is excellent accompaniment.

Yup. That was a good one. Those mid-continent long waves really shake a big area.

8:51 CDT, NE Oklahoma. I'm pretty sure that was an earthquake rattling my concrete house for maybe five seconds. Wow. Last time I barely felt a shake, it was the big 4.5 near the center of the state a few years ago. If I felt it this much, there's probably a lot worse down around OKC, the presumable epicenter.

What we want / what we need

Beyond self, ask to serve.

Of course, as a wiser older friend told me decades ago, be careful about asking to be of service; you'll get more than you bargained for.

FenelonSpoke: "I [hate] to bother God because of my absent mindedness. ;^) … "

I don't really know if what I do can be called praying in the higher sense, but when it comes to bothering Dad Upstairs, I tend to be quite a constant whiney bother. The important thing for us, so I've read, is living with the consciousness of the presence of God, so maybe it helps reinforce that subatomic particle of faith I might have. And, what? We're going to waste His time? I think he's got a superabundance. Just don't always expect YES RIGHT NOW as the answer, of course.

Prayer.

It happens that sometimes the answer is Yes, right now.

Often the answer is, Sorry, no, and frequently the answer should be, No, of course not, that's messed up!

Most often the answer is, In due time perhaps.

Fen, did you check on top of your head?

I could magnify the screen to where I don't need my old, scratched-up pair of reading glasses, but there would be about two words per line.

Yeah, those #xxx; codes are supposed to have & in front of them. If you copied directly from the Unicode page and didn't get &'s then I'm guessing it's your browser or something.

Ironically, the one character in my last comment that didn't print was the &-based ampersand. Normal I can do, just not ampersand-amp-semicolon. Ah, Pixy, you Minx.

andycanuck: That's weird. Aren't those supposed to start with instead of #? I usually don't do the number bits, but use things like hellip; ( … ).

Anyway, the joy of trying to paste on AoS continues.

Save us Pixy Juan Kanoli, you're … never mind.

Wash your text through this webpage and it should replace the high characters with Pixy-acceptable html; codes.

Wandered off reading the ONT from where I left of last night.

Peaceful, yes. Rain falling. Thunder rolling. Cat complaining loudly about it. Dog anxiously insisting on pets of reassurance. Any more peaceful, I may have to move to a hotel room!

Ha!

Being old enough to remember 20¢ gas, as I was reading it, I was doing a vague mental tote. It went over a dollar pretty quick, I don't care which decade it was. So the punchline punched for me. Thanks for sharing that!

I checked the link. Follow-up commenter missed the joke so bad it was painful.
