Would parents, who died decades after their child had gone on before them, have the chance to raise that child, picking up basically where they left off, meaning the time of the child's resurrection would be dependent on one or both parents' survival, or did they miss that opportunity and the child grew up in the meantime, raised in the heavenly nurseries and schools?
Doesn't that beg a dozen theological questions! When do we rise? Does everybody rise at the same time, or some earlier, some later? days later? an age later? everybody raised & judged at "the End of Time"? Do we rise in perfection (or not), or do some have to take Purgatorish remedial classes? What is a soul, separate from the spirit in our minds, and when and how do we actually acquire a soul of survival value?

Fortunately, in idealizing the afterlife, regarding the salvation of souls, we don't have to know the details on how, or when, or what. We know the why, we know the Way.
cth: "And where’s Nestle’s QUIK, huh? They left out my drink. I’m being victimized!"
If Quik was mentioned in the comments, does that count? I'm not sure when Quik came along. But wasn't Hershey's syrup always around?
I liked the Strawberry Quik too much for a while.
I left out a close-quotemark on the Cuz BD link in my previous comment.

I don't know if I've ever mentioned on here about Cuz BD & wife's late child, Ann Marie.
They knew she was in bad shape early-on in the womb; when she was born with her insides out, it was worse than they thought. The best doctors and nurses struggled mightily for weeks to save her, and a circle of prayer radiated world wide, but Nature would not cooperate. That beautiful baby girl was tied up with tubes and tape from the beginning; her mother only got to hold her close, free of all that, at the very end.
I mention this because her birthday anniversary was earlier this month, and if you don't mind having your heart wrenched by some deeply personal words, I thought some might appreciate Ann Marie's mother's letter to her little girl on her fifth birthday.

c/o Cuz BD, who writes, "one of the most rewarding things I get to do is think up and commission mini-documentaries on how Oklahoma schools are rescuing kids — and how school choice policies would enable them to rescue even more kids."
Here's one I'm going to post just so I can close a tab. Pay no attention.
Joan Rivers. When she "outed" First "Lady" Michael the Tranny Obama, my very first thought was, "she's dead."
I don't usually watch Mark "Illuminati Conspiracy" Dice, but I watched his take on River's death. Dice basically said, she was old, death in surgery happens.
Well, I've read that some doctor started doing some exploratory surgery that wasn't scheduled; that is not that unusual, I suppose, but it made the procedure more complicated than expected. Then comes news that her death was because of a "procedural error" during the surgery. Oopsie! Just a tiny error. Her oxygen was cut off.
Some professions, doctors especially, we'd like to think of them as professional, dedicated, upright people. But, money combined with threats can be mighty influential. What price "procedural error?"
By the way, it's my understanding that Mylar is much better for hats than tinfoil. Don't accept cheap imitations.
Urk, that last should have been "Travel ban implemented" not "Border Closing," I guess. Oh, well. Blew that joke.

I hadn't been to Weird Universe for a long time, but picked up on it again recently. Something fun there nearly every day.

Name your poison! Bosco, Ovaltine, Borden's or Tootsie V-M?
Okay, fellow people from the Last Millennium, did you ever hear of a Tootsie Roll entry in the milk-additive market?
Speaking of closing borders:
BULLETIN: BORDER-CLOSING FINALLY IMPLEMENTED!
Yes, a federal judge has placed a travel ban on conservative author/film maker Dinesh D’Souza. confining him to San Diego.
Don't you feel safer now? Less threatened? I know you do.

Oh noes! We're going to have to completely re-work our vacation plans, now that North Korea has closed its borders to tourists to protect itself from Ebola. Doggone it! Well, wonder if we can book a few nights in Tehran?

Good afternoon, PoliNationals. I've got 'way too many tabs open on this browser, but few of the pages are the kind I usually think to post here. Let's see if I can clear out a few…
Well, SoS John "Ketchup" Kerry, VP Joe "Two Blasts" Biden, and National Security Adviser Susan "The Video Did It" Rice were just too darn busy today to meet with the defense minister of some backwater Middle-East country called Unreal or something. Kerry, in particular, had a much more important meeting scheduled with a Mega Superstar Gay Goofball to talk about promiscuity-transmitted immunovirus disease.

For those who care about such trivia. The wrinkly face of the two bad guys being rounded up in the last panel tell me this artwork is by the great Basil Wolverton.

And for the record, never heard of the Tootsie Roll entry in the milk flavors race. Can't imagine. Thanks for the ads.
Mornin, Glories, what's left of it.
Been lurking. Entertaining reading this morning.
You know how jarring it is when you're listening to Mark Levin on the radio and the station breaks for Propaganda News on the half-hour? It's like that here; you're reading along, enjoying the conversations, and suddenly someone totally out of synch with the whole scene busts in and blurts out something utterly inappropriate. Then, back to the regularly scheduled conversations.
Mark Levin should follow every half-hour news break by degradingly socking network announcers like folks do trolls here.

Mr. of Spades took a dig at this today, too. Quoted extensively from an article by Charles Cooke. “Here, progressive hypocrisy has been utterly breathtaking.”
Arlene from Israel writes in TheNoisyRoom.net
Chaya Zissel Braun the three-month old baby girl killed by a terrorist using his car as a weapon, was laid to rest at midnight last night. Her death came about after the terrorist’s car slammed into her stroller, sending her flying some ten meters into the air. She landed on her head, and fractured her skull; doctors could not save her because of internal hemorrhaging. … Her parents – who had waited years to have a child, and had just returned from bringing her to the Kotel (the Western Wall) for the first time – are traumatized and in shock. This picture – courtesy of the family – was taken at the Kotel, shortly before she was killed. …

The "silent intifada" threat to Israel is extensive. And the US Government is morally more bankrupt than the treasury.
Good evening, what's left of it. Have some news links & stuff to share

Remembering Corporal Nathan Cirillo
On War News Updates, many links and a nice comment by the editor: "Corporal Nathan Cirillo must have been a very special reservist to be given the duty of being a guard at Canada's War Memorial. It is .... in every way .... sacred ground .... and only the best of the best are given the duty."

cth: "…for me, the initial and most important thing was to know the Truth."
Me, too, I'd say. But then, I've never been very beautiful or good, so I figure, handle what one can. ![]()
The Spirit of Truth is to "guide us into all truth," Hard to discern its leading, insofar as he does not speak of himself. I'm not sure what the relationship is between that Spirit and the "BS meter," but it seems to me that as a child I developed a good sense of what is right and what is not. (I had good reasons to become aware like that.) A child can have a strong sense of justice and fairness and even logical consistency, before it's beaten out of them. In my quest for the truth about God, I was fortunate to have people who gave me answers which served me well when I was young, and found satisfaction in more expanded answers when my I was older and my questions grew more complicated. One can't find Truth in theology, but what little faith I might have needed a solid grounding.
I've always felt that the Spirit of Truth must have been involved, that day back in my college years when I first read the Gospels through. I've never doubted the reality of Jesus since.
But, now that I've nailed the Truth, I am trying to be a lot more appreciative of every little bit of beauty in the world. ![]()
