Subsequent to the assassination attempt on, and wounding of, Rabbi Yehuda Glick:

"As I write, the Temple Mount is closed. To everyone. Until further notice. This is the way Israeli security is handling what is clearly a highly volatile situation. The city is on high alert, with an additional bolstering of security forces ordered by the prime minister."

I haven't finished this article, but pass it along. Arlene from Israel again on Noisy Room. I'll read about Israel stories, like the Rabbi Glick attack, on other sites, but Arlene has the perspective locally, with details I don't find elsewhere.

Beheading in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Not apparently Muzlin, this time, just a psycho copycat. Which matters not one bit to the roommate-victim, of course. Guess this is "domestic violence."

I was never a fan of monster or horror movies that didn't have Abbott and Costello or the Three Stooges. I figure, there's enough horror and monsters in the Real World:

Among the most profound stages of human development is when, somewhere around age three to five (on average for normal minds) a child makes his or her first moral choice, truly choosing Self versus Other, or Right v Wrong, for the first time. The child has left the innocence of the Garden. It's at that point that the Spirit really has something substantial to work with in encouraging the young mortal ascender to make choices that lead Paradiseward.

So, naturally, this means "post birth abortions" are just fine with some college students (among others).

I believe this same logic can be extended. Since the human mind does not finish growing until the 20s (IIRC), parents should have the option to "terminate" up to that age. And you could probably find folks who wouldn't argue with that or recognize it as sarcasm.

Pete: "PLEASE POST YOUR FAVORITE SCARY,HALLOWEENY-TYPE SONGS.HAVE FUN!!!!!"

Haven't you learned yet to be careful what you ask for, even here in the garden? (heh)

Once upon a time, when the kids were teens, our family tried to have a business that served good food and music for all ages. I say "tried to" because business is supposed to be profitable. We served up a lot of good food and music for a couple of years, though. We usually had all kinds of rock on Friday and Saturday nights, much of it very good rock (and some awful), but one of my favorite aspects was Bluegrass/Folk night, usually on Thursdays. And one of my favorite B/F nights was always the one for Halloween.

While we videotaped an awful lot of the shows, all that stuff is locked up on VHS, and most of it requires more BIA and ASCAP payola than we could afford. Nevertheless, we did rip a couple of samples of our Bluegrass artists from the Halloween show, 2002. (MP3 files)

Trish Webster sings Oh, My Darlin' Frankenstein

Allan Cowell, with his wife Trish, started the Bluegrass nights by coming in one day and saying, "We want to be your house band." I thought, "Yeah, sure, stranger." They showed us! Here's Allan Teaches Monster Mash.

Just listened to these for the first time in many years. Funny & fun.

I’ve joked that one of the first symptoms of Ebola must be the urge to go around and infect as many people as possible.

The I read the other day that, in fact, it is documented that early-on, Ebola victims experience “restlessness” and an urge to leave their place of confinement.

So, it gets in the brain. And, of course, Regressive brains being smaller and easier to modify… (Just kidding?)

Governement Arrestomg People for Anti-Obama FaceBook Posts

In the four years since the start of Operation Vigilant Eagle, the government has steadily ramped up its campaign to “silence” dissidents, especially those with military backgrounds. Coupled with the DHS’ dual reports on Rightwing and Leftwing “Extremism,” which broadly define extremists as individuals and groups “that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely,” these tactics have boded ill for anyone seen as opposing the government.

Thanks for another great post+, Pete. How about an update on the Mrs.?

Your post is so rich, so full of information, by the time I got to the end, I had to go back through to recall if you’d got the O’Keefe video. Which, of course, you did. Usually, I check my newsfeeds before checking PoliNation, but today I thought I’d start with Pete’s, so I don’t have much to share, that Pete hasn’t already covered.

That Pope guy -Catholic News Agency c/o Truth Revolt

Speaking before an audience from the international Marian movement, the Pontiff lamented that marriage has been redefined, and not in a good way.

“What is being proposed is not marriage, it’s an association. But it’s not marriage,” exclaimed Francis. “It’s necessary to say these things very clearly and we have to say it!”

Pope Francis also warned against the current societal trend to “call everything family.”

“The family is being hit, the family is being struck and the family is being bastardized,” the Pope continued. “So many families are divided, so many marriages broken, (there is) such relativism in the concept of the Sacrament of Marriage.”

My son delivers for Papa John's. Don't know about the chain, but at least locally, he says it's a good place.

Papa John's CEO Attends Slain Worker's Funeral (TruthRevolt)

From a Facebook post of the slain employee's sister:

The Spring Hill PD escorted a line of about 25 cars with Papa John's delivery topper signs. All of the employees then greeted my mother and the Papa, himself, was there to pay tribute. We never once imagined that this would touch anyone high up in the Papa John's corporate office, let alone, John Schnatter. He was visibly distraught when speaking to my family about the tragic loss of my brother and it was apparent that he didn't come just to pay lip service. As most of you know, Papa John's is taking care of the costs of my brother's service and medical expenses. But this display of support was so much more meaningful than any monetary donation.

Good evening. I've got some more things to share, if nobody minds. Like this news about our NATO buddy, Turkey:

Last week a U.S. journalist, Serena Shim, was murdered in Turkey for exposing the truth of Turkey’s President Recep Erdogan allowing and facilitating ISIS militants going to and from Turkey into strategic positions around Kobane (Kobani).

Now an independent journalist team have used video to show Turkish police and military meeting with ISIS militants on the Turkish border.

To some extent, later versions of Windows are supposed to be auto-defragging. Don't know how well I'd say that works.

Another thing about defragging, you've got to have enough room free on the disk for the operation. That's what often stops me. "Scotty" voice: Ach! Me poor, overloaded drives. They canna take much more, Cap'n! :(
