9 Deaths, 1,105 Cases. Oklahoma is one of few places in the US that has had no reported cases. Of course, it's widely said that a lot of cases are being hidden.

(Reminds me of the report weeks ago of someone back East coming into the country with possible Ebola. Oh, no worry, they said, it was "only" malaria. So they said. Nothing to see here. (suspenseful music))

Who could possibly have predicted this totally unexpected consequence?!?

cth: "he would yowl, 'ME OUUUUUUT!'"

Oh, yes, we've got a couple who seem to know that phrase.

Weirdest one I've had lately, I forget which cat, but I got up in the morning and said, "Hello, kitty." The kitty, near as I could tell, said, "eh-oh." They have a little trouble with H's and L's.

And as to cats stretching for door handles, there's lots of vids, but this is one of my favorites. Mulder opening doors

How Loser Behave

1

The campaign of Kentucky Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes has filed a lawsuit to stop Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell's campaign from distributing a mailer that it says amounts to illegal voter intimidation tactics. … The mailers have the words "ELECTION VIOLATION NOTICE" sprawled at the top and attack Grimes for spreading "fraudulent" information.

Which, of course, she has been spreading.

…Shaheen, when asked by Breitbart News about a recent study from the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) that found 71 percent of all New Hampshire jobs since 2000 have gone to both legal and illegal aliens rather than New Hampshire citizens [replied] … “My understanding is that’s a study sponsored by a right-wing organization….”

When Breitbart News noted that the study is based on data from the U.S. Census Bureau and other government sources—and includes no data from non-governmental sources—her communications director Harrell Kirsten abruptly called an end to the press conference … and ushered her away from reporters.

“That’s all the time we have, thank you,” Kirstein said.

Without their "handlers," they'd all be far more blatantly a pack of Crazy Uncle Joe Bidens.

While Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Martin Dempsey was speaking at Syracuse University, a bearded Muslim held the microphone to ask a question. Dempsey quickly asked, "Are you Taliban?" and added, "Just kidding." The Muslim, Yusuf Soule, said he did not even hear Dempsey's quip, and when told, said he was not bothered by it, saying those kind of questions are common and "[General Dempsey's] a funny guy." Ibrahim Hooper, in the audience, took offense, describing the joke as "another symptom of the growing anti-Muslim sentiment in our society."

Me: "I wonder how we could send him a letter, to let him know he was never forgotten."

Pete: "Somehow,I think he already knew that."

Yeah, I just watched the vids of his release in San Diego and his arrival in Miami. I meant, not so much that he wasn't forgotten, but that millions were aware of and praying for him, and are glad for him now. Just a postcard of "Welcome home."

Getting off the plane in Miami, looked like he shook hands with each of two attending officers. And no styrofoam cup in his hand.

Thanks for that, bob!

I have some redesign plans, never started on, for our house that includes catwalks up high (not the only purpose, but would serve as that). Since the cats climb up, over, and into everything anyway. Don't think I'd get quite as elaborate as this fellow. But I can really appreciate his work.

I was also interested to see he uses the same red cement patio blocks for grave markers that we've used on our pet cemetery.

I do wonder about the resale value of the house, eventually. But it could fetch the asking price if he found a buyer who was really into cats, too!

It's pretty easy to draw a direct line from these lunatic (usually single) mothers to the criminal sons. If they're not driving them to the scene of the crime, they're supporting crime as less significant than their "innocent little babies."

Pete: "I know, [Tahmoressi]’s got too much class for that. But I sure would."

We'll have to continue to do it for him.

I wonder how we could send him a letter, to let him know he was never forgotten.

FINALLY! The nation will re-set itself to God's time, and match the clock in my truck. Will not affect my schedule, which is based on sunrise when cats start yowling to be let out. Similarly, my neighbor says he resets his cattle by turning their tails clockwise in the Spring, counter-clockwise in the Fall. :)

Speaking of cats (stretch that segue!), it was pretty cold this morning when the dog wanted out. Little gray kitty, usually first out of the house in the morning, was right behind him. When I opened the door, she got a blast of the cold. She didnt move. I said, "Do you want to go out?" She turned away from me and I heard her clearly say, "Naw," and turned back.

As I said to maybe nobody at the end of the last thread, Morning, Glories, and Happy New Month.

As for this post...

I get caught up just in time for the death of the thread?

And the new one... so full of words!

I'm not awake enough for that. I think I'll just hang out here.

Morning, Glories, any that remain. Happy New Month.

Can't trust incompetents like parents raising new little Communists. The kids might develop attachments and then fail to turn in their parents if they do anything suspicious.

That must've been a really interesting tour. 1972, the height of USSR glory. Shelves full of bread and meat, people thriving under liberty. Oh, no, wait, that was America 1972.

Well, I'm ready to give up on this day. Temperature is already 30 and continuing to plunge. And I have miles to go before I sleep.

Good night, chrissy, and all. Don't let the goblins gitcha at midnight.

Y'all will likely see this everywhere, but I just got the news.

"It is with an overwhelming and humbling feeling of relief that we confirm that [Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi] was released today after spending 214 days in Mexican Jail."

Now he can begin his recovery from this ordeal of betrayal by the US Government. "His mother, Jill Tahmooressi, has said her son's time in a Mexican jail has been worse than his two tours in Afghanistan."

Remember the days of yore, when all the family would gather 'round the old radio to listen together?

http://mindfulwebworks.com/offsite/old-radio.png

Me, neither. But from the Lone Rangers Adventures LP I had as a kid, to the weekend "Old Timey Radio" shows, I've enjoyed lots of the Days of Radio. Even that old phart on NPR with the Lake Winnebago or whatever it is show, when he's not being über lib, has done some excellent radio pieces.

Visuals are great, but like reading, audio depends so much on your imagination. Milady likes to talk about one sound effect she heard of. Bad guy says, "I'm going to turn you inside out!" Followed by a combination of a rubber glove being taken off, some sticks snapping, and something sounding very wet.

"Return with us now to the days of Yesteryear…" with scary old Halloween radio shows!" Suspense, Escape, and Quiet, Please.

Confession, I haven't heard any of these yet, but they're linked at Wintery Night c/o commenter MaryfromMarin at Conservative Treehouse.

Also has YouTube of 1939's War of the Worlds.

I think that's about all I've got at the moment.

Stay warm and don't let them trick you.

Romancing the… Pumpkin??

Commenter cabrerski on Weasel Zippers shares a story (no source link) of a man caught, um, in the act and unawares, in a field of pumpkins. In court, he got the indecency and lascivious behavior charges dropped. Kinda long, won't quote his whole comment here. But, check it out. Crude but funny.
