I did not and likely will not watch that video. I did watch all the thirty-seven minutes of this video:

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) explaining on the floor of Congress the significance of today’s Muslim prayer service in Washington D.C. at the edifice formerly known as the National Cathedral. (c/o Baron Bodisse at Gates of Vienna) [Note: Gohmert initially refers to the Nat'l Cathedral as being operated by the Episcopal Church, which is correct (my alma mater — sigh!), but twice later he says Presbyterians.] He covered everything, speaking carefully and deliberately, but not without great passion.

Argh. Starting my sloppy off right away today. Forgot to close the Admiral Twin Drive-In link tag.

But, did you ever start to drive off with the speaker still hanging on the window? Almost did, caught it just in time. Tulsa's Admiral Twin Drive-In is a little older than I am. A few years ago, its dual screens burnt to the ground. Took a while, but there was tremendous community support, and they re-built, went digital, and are thriving today. Well, not today - closed for the winter. "You must have an FM radio to hear sound," but, now you really get stereo.

I think a friend had the sno-cone maker. I had a cotton candy maker. Pour sugar into the heating element, it spun cotton candy. Must've had some coloring agent in the sugar that came with it. I don't think these toys, or things like the Vac-u-form, would be considered "safe" for today's little monkeys. Oh, yeah, the cotton candy maker met its fate when wise guy Older Brother decided he'd try Jello instead of sugar, over my objections. End of that toy.

I well remember, sometime after we'd moved to Chicago, walking into a music store and realizing there was not an LP in the place. I resisted CDs as long as I could.

I was pretty proud, as a little kid, to know how to use the card catalogs. Libraries then were the world.

Dad used a belt, threat of which was usually sufficient. Not always, but I think the folks had softened up after raising my three older siblings. Stung.

No jacks, but plenty of middle-of-the-night foot-stabbers in the one-dot Legos and the (horrors!) Barbie high heels.

Mom made popcorn in the big kettle, but now and then we had Jiffy Pop; it usually worked.

I pasted a lot of green stamps into books for my mom. They were still going when Milady and I moved to Chicago. She recalls we got a blender or egg poacher or something with our stamps, but had to drive somewhere 'way out west to redeem them. Had to explain the green stamps to daughter.

Thanks for the stroll down Nostalgia Avenue, Pete.

Besides their function of varmit control, they're so cute and fuzzy... most of the time.

Across my chair seat and across the floor under the desk, voluminous spew of semi-digested kitty kibble. Dried, mostly. That's what I like to find first thing in the early cold morning, uh-huh!

Hope your Friday got off to a better start.

By the time I got to the troll post, it was gone.

No problem, though. Plenty of folks quoted it back in its entirety....

Think, people.

Clinton quote was from Weasel Zippers quoting The Hill

____________________

By high school, I was a hard SF fan, didn't care for fantasy or sword and sorcery. Tolkien's masterwork is a class unto itself. I read them all in High School, including all those appendices. Of course, whether Milady liked it, too, was a big test of our love (haha); we adventured through it reading together. Maybe twice. Soon after we moved back to Oklahoma, we read the whole series through aloud to the kids as nighttime stories. And when they got older, they all read through Hobbit and Lord of the Rings on their own. That's how much we like it.

I hope someday somebody can adapt them to live-action film, true to the books. I would hate for anyone to adulterate them horribly and leave a stinking pile of rubbish as the film version for decades to come. (Bad enough what they did to the later Harry Potter books; the first one is still the best.) Anyone who would pervert Tolkien must be a horrible ogre, an orc of lowest breeding. A servant of Sauron!

Oh, look. Says here, Peter Jackson gave Colbert a LOTR Sword, saying, “This is for sticking it to the Tea Party in the forthcoming election."

Video at Truth Revolt I haven't watched.

Last time I checked, despite exponential growth in the web, seemed like I couldn't find as many articles about 'Arkancides' as I could a few years previous. Of course, those kinds of rumors about the Clintons were all just a bunch of right-wing-nuts conspiracy theorists.

So, why does my blood freeze when I read that on the Ellen show Mr Bill reflected…

“But the thing about ‘Scandal’ and ‘House of Cards’ that makes it fun to watch is that I can’t imagine that either a President Spacey or the president’s chief of staff on ‘Scandal’ could really get away with murder,” Clinton chuckled, to laughs from the daytime talk show’s audience.

“I wish I’d known about that when I was in office,” the 42nd president added, before wondering aloud, “You know, think of all the opportunities I’ve missed … so little time … so many people had it coming. Crazy.”

Here's something fiercely painful. To start with, it's nearly two minutes of the jug-eared traitor's prattle. Worse, it's from the debates and he's hot on "telling Romney off." The incredible irony of everything he says, in light of the subsequent two years, is the most brutal of all, though, from O's mocking Romney for saying Russia was a threat, to the need for leadership in the Middle East. The pain! The pain!

Thanks to Mockarena at Chicks on the Right for this painful reminder.

That video in my last comment, c/o Moonbattery.

Instead of just posting the YouTube URL and letting WordPress handle the embedding, I used a <frame> tag so as to compensate for the vertical framing of that video, experimenting to see if an Ordinary Commenter can use frames, which apparently I could. Live and learn. Don't you think it looks nicer without the bands of "letterboxing"?

However, if some enterprising blog Wizard wanted to edit my comment to reduce the size on that from width=360 height=640 to something like width=270 height=480, it might look better.

I don't mean to be so much trouble! :D
