Morning, Glories! So painfully cold, none of the critters has even asked to be let out yet. Not even the crazy one.

Just shaking off the old sock and griping that it's cold in November. Sun's out, though; that always helps.

Well, this… has a sad ending.

When we're driving home at night, as we cross the bridge over the creek, I figure, the big ol' barn owl is high up in the tree on the left, and by our headlights spies some delicious victim in the creek down to our right. Consequently, when he swoops, he is right in front of our windshield. Several times had this happen there or or something like it nearby play out. Haven't hit one, but it's been close. I've seen other owls that didn't make it. That's to prepare you.

So, I though I had this nice local story, about a cousin of bob's, a rare snowy owl in our neighborhood. "Snowy owl spotted south of Bartlesville" said the local radio station webpage headline. Article goes on about why they sometimes come around, their habits. Then the final line of the story: Sadly, FOX23 learned Sunday morning that at some point overnight the bird was struck by a car and killed.

Bad news, badly purveyed. Ugh.

I posted Louis Gohmert's commentary on the Muslim takeover at the National Cathedral. Here's an article examining the service itself:

Keynote Muslim Sermon Recites Koranic Themes of Conquering and Condemning Christians and Jews at National Cathedral “Ecumenical” Event by Andrew G. Bostom at Gates of Vienna. Calls it an “intellectual and moral disgrace on a massive scale.”

I read where there was one Christian at the National Cathedral for that Muslim takeover. Truth Revolt quotes Reuters about her.

But World Net Daily has her story, why she made the trip, what motivated her, how she got in, why she said what she did. I'd quote a bunch from it, but that would be spoilers, so here's just the main event:

The Muslims had set up their prayer rugs in such a way that their backs were turned on the cross…. Yet, they found themselves staring at a woman who demanded the cross become the center of attention. She then blurted out the message she had traveled all the way from Tennessee to deliver.

“Jesus Christ died on that cross. It is the reason we are to worship only Him. Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior,” she said. “We have built enough of your mosques in this country. Why don't you worship in your mosques and leave our churches alone?”

Sorry. I was on a jury in a criminal case years ago when Louis was a district judge. My sense of humor flees at the thought of Louis Gohmert in full tilt.

Indeed! In his speech, he initially correctly identified the Nat'l Cathedral as run by the Episcopal Church (my alma mater), but later on twice errs in calling them Presbyterian.

To be fair, he's probably So. Baptist, so those other denominations probably all look to him like branches of the Catholic Church.

cth: "I like the HP movies..." Yeah, I have my nerdy gripes about some of it, but that was some of the greatest casting ever! Some months back, Milady and I started watching the first one, and of course didn't stop 'til we'd watched the whole series. Explain a bit about "Rowling is terrible at staging"? An example, perhaps, where you thought the movie better in that?

Our kids are of that privileged generation that got to read 'em as they came out. Me, too.

I like the books/movies shelving.
