Backhoe RIP

More than anything else, the way he spoke of his love for his dead wives changed the way I thought about my own bride of over forty years. I took to calling her Milady on here instead of "the Mrs." or something like, in a poor attempt to emulate Backhoe's expressions of affection.

Thank you, Backhoe. Milady and I cried for you yesterday, when we heard you had died.

The outpouring of remembrance on the board was truly inspiring. Much like the recollections spurred last night by Joffen's sister asking if he was remembered. This is a great community.

The support of the right to peaceful assembly and protest applied to non-peaceful mobs is a parallel to the private biz of running a blog like this. An incredible range of topics and opinions and repartee is permitted. But there are limits and things work best when they are enforced. There is appropriate and inappropriate. There is no obligation to suffer disruptive trolling or highway blocking. Billy clubs and banhammers.
