Just recalled my least favorite Christmas.
Milady and I had been up really late, putting presents under the tree, stuffing stockings. Then we slept hard, & late, for a Christmas morning.
Awoke to find the kids had already opened all their presents without us, so we missed the greatest delight, seeing their joy of discovering all we'd set up for them. They "didn't want to wake up" their poor old sleeping parents, they said.
Milady was amused. For me, that was the day I began to realize what a total failure I was as a parent. Quarter of a century ago, and I can still feel bad about that morning.

I'm lazying in bed, really late. Milady snoozing nearby. House is chilly. Outside looks cold, gray, overcast. Altogether discouraging to getting going. Alas, furry for-footed friends are hungry.... my time is up.
Christmas dinner at daughter's house tomorrow, so Milady and I have minimal prep for Christmas, which is fine since she & I have both had a rough past couple of weeks. The awkward years - kids are adults, but no grandkids.

Just as physics is inherent to the physical universe, so is morality inherent in personality self-awareness.
Recognizing self and other will lead to moral righteousness. On any planet, anywhere in Creation.
As 'other' includes Deity conception, the Creator will be acknowledged as the one who 'built in' the facts, meanings, and values of life, but such faith-understanding is not requisite to discerning things, relationships, and righteousness.
For me, the Commandment is, Love God as your Father, but the second like unto it, love your neighbor as yourself, can be understood even in ignorance of the first part.

First time I got ripped off was a high school newspaper cartoon; found my illustration published in another school's newspaper, stripped of my sig and caption. About forty-five years ago. Valuable early lesson.
