thathalfrican: ...What? Are you afraid of us or something?"
That's funny. Nice work.

Mr. Feverhead: ...Koreans have 100 words for cabbage instead of snow.
THE KORAN HAS 100 WORDS FOR SNOW???
Oh. Korean. Never mind.
Howdy, Current Fort-Holder-Downers. Having a quiet, pleasant Spring night after gentle rains. How YOU doin'? How's the commentary been doin'?

Don't know how that little bird got in the house this morning, but it was fun, first awakening Milady to the sound of the chase, then following the bird around, as it smashed into mirrors and closed windows, hiding behind stuff on a kitchen shelf, finally finding the open kitchen window and flying out. The black cat helped in the chase, just to add to the cartoonishness of it all.
All this before coffee!
Crunchy eyes
Sour mouth
Creaky knees
Think I'll take this tired collection of aches and go to bed.
Y'know, I really like the early morning threads. Catch up on what's news, and a great discussion of the news to help me ponder the many particulars of society and politics.
The Overnight Thread is different, not just that it deals with a broader range of topics, but in that the discussion, while often intellectual, tends more toward helping sort out matters more, how to put it?, emotional, personal, psychological and even spiritual.
Plus, more boobs.
Goooooood night, ye Army of the Almighty. What Iron Grampa said.
RickZ #575: How many know of a three-sided lp?
You know those original "floppy disks," magazine inserts you could play on your record player?
Mad Magazine did one that had something like five or eight different tracks and depending on which one the needle picked up you'd get the same song, different ending.
I think I still have my copy, stored, with some other old "floppies" of the same vintage, with the LP collection, down in the catacombs.
I also think I found it online once, possibly on YouTube, all the tracks in one recording, but it's just not the same, of course.
* still lurking about *
I just scrolled through all the comments and boy is my index finger tired.

Maybe it's just the hour, but looks to me like Mary Clogginstien is really getting loopy.
They're changing the name of the town to Prattlesboro in her honor.
When I see the house pictured at the top of the post, I hear the theme music for Leave It to Beaver.
♦
Occurred to me a while ago that, while it may make for a cute lyric, Tuscon to Tucumcari isn't all that far for long-haul trucking.

Or something. Hello again.
In town where the cable connection and big screenn live. Finished watching our vids for tonight, gonna head home now.
YouTube vids take up all our vid-watching time sometimes. Movie trailers, cute critter bits, regulars like Crowder or Diamond & Silk. Ends up, we don't get to our series, or movies. (Or ONT comment reading!)
Can be like only eating salads, no main course.
Okay, heading home. Might be back once the dust settles...
About 125 comments in the time it took me to read the post. That works out to, um, lessee... (pulls out slide rule, scratches behind ear)... something per something?
Gooooood evening, MisHum, and all ye little Hordelings.
So, while I caught up on the tail-end of the overnight, you all were already progressing to the art thread. I've still gotta at least catch JJ's headlines.
One nice thing about being so far behind all the time, I don't have to think about what I might comment.
As this comment clearly shows.
Goooooood morning, Hordelingkind! May the Almighty smile on all your good endeavors today.
I better check out before booknlass goes to my head, along with the brandy.
Vanishes through wall into platform 9&1/2.

Miley: So what's set you off on this troubled state?
Ha. Hi, Miley. I'm just riffing on my normal state, more than anything particularly lately set off. A tangle of trouble too complicated and confusing to describe, mostly the consequence of choices too stupid to admit.
Day ending in y.
So much to be concerned about, so much to be grateful for, my communion with the Almighty tends to consist of "Help! Thank you! Help! Thank you! Help! Thank you! Help! Thank you! etc."
booknlass: i kinda just fell in love with you right there.
Awww. I know it's the late hour and the tequila talking, but that's sweet. If I weren't so deeply married, I'd ask for your tumblr blog url. Or whatever kids do these days.
Blog comment theater - dollar-for-byte, still your best entertainment value.

Is this the Ace Home for Tough Camaraderie Therapy about which I've heard such wonderful things?
The floors are stickier than I imagined.
* pulls up chair *
I'm so depressed. I hardly know why I'm bothering to write, so full am I of angst and despair.
Sure, it's a perfect Spring night, all our cats are accounted for, there's a full moon for the dog to howl at, and I have a tasty nightcap and amusement galore packaged in gray boxes on my monitor screen, but, but, what's it all mean? what's it all about? what's it all for?
*sighs deeply* *gulps drink*
Hey! Cheetoes and sour cream dip on the buffet!
* sniffs sour cream dip to be sure *
So, what's everybody else been doin?
Off-topic, may Ace forgive me, but something I've been meaning to throw out there for a long time:
Ace: (don't comment on old posts!)
Pixy may be the Dollar Store discount blog software from yesteryear, but it seems like, if the Pixyman can modify the software to ban IPs of folks who innocently, ignorantly comment on old posts, that it would be just as much or as little work to simply disable commenting on old threads.
After all, AoS has managed to have the software modified such that certain words can't be posted, links don't link, no media can be imbedded (not complaining on that one, just noting), and we can't even use color text or anything more than b, s, i, and u tags. So the software seemingly *can* be modified to order. But I've only been a programmer since '78, so I'm no authority. (But I do sympathize with the pain of reworking old code.)
And do we really still need IMG (in lower case) banned?
/end rant, sorry for long off-topic
Willowed, but anyway...
...live-action Cherry Poptart movie...
Omaha the Cat Dancer - actual plot and story (of sorts) included.
(I would drop the mic here, but it's hard on mics)
OregonMuse #211: ...That's why you need to see the "Tolkien edit" version of The Hobbit....
Does such a thing exist? I'd download it. I quit watching when that brown wizard, formerly-dr-who guy with bird poo on his head, took off with his giant bunny-drawn sled. (spoiler?)
I've often suggested there should be a back-to-the-books edit of the Potter series as well.
Cicero #144: ...Rosie O'Donnell has already been signed for a live action remake of Fantasia....
Dang, I shoulda known someone would've already suggested Fantasia. And Song of the South which I was going to suggest too, but typed/deleted.
I think I'm'a haveta go have a day now as if I had a life outside the gray boxes.
