"…Brown insisted …that spending $830,000 on lavish parties and other extravagances was an accident."

Well, sure, it could happen to any of us, right?

Democrats seem to have an awful lot of serious "accidents," though.

Good one. Made Milady laugh!

Do you think, one day, maybe, the LaughingStock Media will realize the universe does not revolve around them?

#BeatingDeadMemes

Went back to the morning report. Scanned the headlines, then searched the comments.

Nobody said, "I'm tired of these m-----f----- scorpions on this m-----f----- plane!"

I just don't know this place anymore.

Howdy.

I was going to read the Morning Report, but there was a picture from some old 1950s monster movie, scared me off. So I jumped up to here.

After the adrenaline wears off, I may go back and try again.

Those two in the painting... have we yet determined if this is Before or After? I'm guessing Just Before....

People! How can you sit around babbling about Ginger vs Ketchup and Hot Dogs in crossbows when there are such serious matters to be discussed?

Like: How many times did the adults let that little girl get dragged around and around on that thing, while filming it?

Wow! In early for me.

Wish I had something worth saying.

That is such a pretty kitty!

Never an easy way to lose our furry pals, but "just faded away" is a lot better than some of the deaths we've had to go through. We only have 4 cats and 1 dog now, but we've had so many cats (and a few dogs) since we moved to our little rural home a couple of decades ago, and each one was special.

huerfano: Why is Joseph so often portrayed as an old man in so many Renaissance paintings?

Actually, Joseph was a hearty young carpenter who was working on an addition to a house, when the householder's daughter brought the hunky carpenter a glass of water. Mutual affection ensued.

Tragic thing, that crane falling on Joseph while working on Herod's palace. Not only left Mary and the eldest boy to raise all those younger kids, but also, Herod refused to pay damages or even Joe's back pay. Government, as always.

Mary and the ben Josephs muddled through, with Jesus assuming the father role. It was good, though, that Jesus thereby got mortal parenting experience, since he never got to have kids of his own. He was in all ways tested as a mortal, including dealing with the rebellious middle child.

Insomniac: ...I would never waste a pork chop by throwing it at someone.

Head-butting mom because she forgot to buy cigs, perfectly justified & understandable.

Throwing a pork chop? Proof he's got mental problems.

cth: You mean you AREN’T in charge of the weather?!

Who are you, one of my cats?? :)

Well, I guess I do control the weather... inside the house. But outside that little mini-Paradise is a superior being's jurisdiction.

Rains slacked off enough for dog to go hit the yard and do his biz. Poor guy. Cats can at least used the litter box.

"...mandating diversity..."

I am so sick of racists counting noses by their color. Dividers, segregationists, collectivists, identity-politicizers, and bigots attacking ordinary people for racism - that mad attitude has always been there, but the previous President certainly did fan the flames. But as Americans, this is not who we are!

Gooood morning, liberty-lovers. Deluge days in NE Okla. There's a shallow lake where our lawn used to be.

Causing “injury to feelings" is a criminal offense? Sheesh! Boo piddly puddly hoo, po' babies!

If I could sue everyone who ever hurt my precious feewings, or tried to, I'd be neck-deep in legal battles - mostly against family members.

Even better, can I sue all the folks responsible for the flood of sex-confused commercials and same-sex smooching in tv shows? Don't my big old white male feelings count? Hmmmm?

:D

I had just got through feeding our pack of four-footers, when I went online to find this fine documentary about life with cats! Cats, and whatever that thing is in the first pic.

We had storms all night. Thunder kept the dog at my bedside.

Pet, pet, pet, "it's okay boy," pet, pet, petttt… zzzzz zzz… Thunder crashes
OW! (dog claws at my arm)… pet, pet, pet, "it's okay, boy," pet, pet, petttzzzz… repeat.

Now he hasn't touched his food, and the cats didn't exactly come a-runnin' for theirs. Maybe they wanted to be fed outside, like nice days, and don't put it together that the porch is too flooded, critters!

Mostly, I suspect, as usual during stormy days, they want me to stop the wetness and bring back that big yellow ball of warmth, because, you know, to them, Mrs pet-god and I seem to be all-powerful server of feedings, pettings, light, warmth, and shelter. I try to tell them, yes, I am a god over you, but I have gods over me who run the weather - but they don't understand. Relativistic divinity is not in their theology.

(Sorry for long comment. Coffee just hit me, I think.)

Good morning, PoliNationals. God grant you a good day today.

Ghost of kari:

When I saw a young dog wandering up by the shed, I presumed it was a neighbor's, and sent big son out to chase the dog off. Son ran to him, arms in the air, boogala-boogling, and the dog just laid down on his back. Knew right then, he was ours.

Son got the naming privilege, and chose Gimli. I didn't think it fit him, but what could I say? After all these years, he's still good old Gimli.

And he does like his kerchief, I think. Like he likes his bed and his blanket.

Mindful Webworker, if you're still on here, no effing way, my best friend's dog is named Gimli, and mine is a lab/shepherd mix. Right on right on right on. Yeah he'll usually slip or pull off anything you put on him but he likes the neckerchief. Dogs.

Captain Whitebread #281: Why am I even posting this?

If you don't put down some pixels, nobody knows you're here.

Got home just before the clouds burst, and glad we did-- it's Noah time here in NE OK.

One cat didn't show up for supper yet, but figure she's high & dry out in the shed and will show up when we get a break. She's good at catching her own supper pretty often, anyway.

Ghost of kari: ...Girlfriend of kari has taken to putting kerchiefs on the dog, which I still think is pretty gay, but I'll be damned if he doesn't look dapper.

Our furry brother, Gimli, is a mix, some German Shepherd look & color, but shorter snout, broader face. He's getting on in years. Recently broke an ear, so now one side is always floppy. We added a kerchief for the first time in his life, and he didn't object. And I think he just looks good that way.

That should be pretty light on gas consumption.
