Saddest part is, this is the "before" picture.

Before the EPA came in to "clean it up."

___

This thread is making it difficult for me to procrastinate on the gutter-cleaning I need to do.

FenelonSpoke: ...or is it the stupid idea that if you have a crush-as it were on someone of the same sex-without actually having any sort of intimate relations with them that you must not be 100% heterosexual.

Kids today are tremendously confused.

Confession. Last century, on a CompuServe forum (pre-Internet), I briefly took the smartass stance of "being bi" in the sense of being able to - intellectually - appreciate the sexuality of menfolk, as they seem to women, along with my natural appreciation of gals.

I don't remember how I got into that. It was more about language than sexuality, I think. Mostly I remember my debate correspondent insisting that unless one had actual sexual contact, it didn't count. What? I knew I liked girls long before I had contact!

I was having fun. Being an idiot. I sure hope all those forum posts got Hillaried decades ago. I have a bunch of my own stuff stored on 5" floppies that can only be read by a Shack Model I computer, so they're secure.

When we visited relatives in Alaska, decades ago, we took a trip up to Denali Park. The mountain pretty much went by both its official designation and the AmerIndian name, interchangeably. Nobody seemed to care much.

But it's important that our National Lord Daddy walk the walls of Eden and name all the animals, for us lesser beings. Other little changes to look for in the coming 500 days:

White House --> Rainbow Manse
Oklahoma --> South Kansas
United States,
Canada,
and Mexico --> People's Republic of N America

(Repeating from sometime yesterday, because.)

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said in an interview on NBCs Meet the Press that aired Sunday that building a wall along Wisconsin's southern border with Illinois is a legitimate issue that merits further review.

Keith Small, from the University of Oxford's Bodleian Library, added: 'This gives more ground to what have been peripheral views of the Koran's genesis, like that Muhammad and his early followers used a text that was already in existence and shaped it to fit their own political and theological agenda, rather than Muhammad receiving a revelation from heaven.

Infidel lies!

And here I was going to joke that the world's longest penis story (noted by LDC in the EMT) didn't make the dump... but I don't get to because it did.

World's smallest man is only 2" taller than this guy's schlong is long.

Just the tip? "a tip circumference of 10 inches..."

He never met Sandra Fluke...

Vic is "back" and we're already playing hide'n'go seek with the news?

Must be Monday. We even got Gabe!

Morning, Glories! Here in the middle of America the sun just rose, blazing red between the trees on the horizion, igniting the fog on the pastures. Nature don't Monday.

A couple of little hardbacks Milady found in the resale store this week. Both by one Chic Sale. Both amusingly illustrated.

The Specialist, (c)1929, our copy is 24th printing, 1929, and, "I'll Tell You Why," (c)1930, ours is 1957. A bit long, at 27 and 45 pages respectively, for my web-induced null attention span, but I'm going to give them a try.

The Specialist begins:

You've heerd a lot of pratin' and prattlin' about this bein' the age of specialization. I'm a carpenter by trade. At one time I could of built a house, barn, church or chicken coop. But I seen the need of a specialist in my line, so I studied her. I got her; she's mine. Gentlemen, you are face to face with the champion privy builder of Sangamon County. ...

That was... horrifying. Suits suitable only for Herb the salesman guy on WKRP. The leprechaun green was stunning.

I was busy making a complete mess of my life that year, and missed out on those fine fashion trends.

Sharing accumulated random websurfing flotsam.

Stumbled across a comment from somebody on some blog back in 2004 quoting an excerpt from Bob Dylan bio, describing the recording session for Rainy Day Women #12 & #35, the Everybody Must Get Stoned song. Just about what you'd expect.

As genderless fashion continues to build momentum across the industry, theres one garment helping make unisex chic easily accessible for both men and women. Yes, its the oh-so-utilitarian burka....

Burkas have been on trend for women for several seasons, but after designers at this past New York Fashion Week Mens showed several wearable variations on the trend they've officially arrived back on the scene for the boys.

The best way for guys to embrace the trend is with simplicity -- too many extra accessories ruin the look's clean lines.

LDC, ice cube trays with levers - thanks for that link. Interesting. Used to have to fuss with those. I remember the transition to plastic ice cube trays. (GOML)

There should be one of those "kids look at" videos with the lever ice cube trays. Kids from homes with ice makers who don't even know what ice cube trays are.

Here's a comic of TFG saying the same. Yeah, sure, guy.
