Hit the hay about 10:30, woke up about 1:30, and never really got solidly back to sleep. I must've dozed some or I wouldn't be functional right now, but mostly I remember trying every get-comfy-and-relax trick I know to no avail.

Had some time to thank God and stuff like that, anyway. So, not a complete loss.

When I realized it was getting light out, I was amazed. Don't know what's up with that. Milady's spaghetti casserole last night? Mind still agitated by too much bold text? Yes, I will blame Danube.

Lovely sunrise developing out there, though. In the twilight I could just make out deer grazing by the old graveyard. And I can see young calves prancing in the pasture.

Saturday's Dr Who (bear with me, don't judge me), 2nd part of a 2-parter, the ending, was interesting, if wordy and tedious and ultimately kind of stupid beaaause...

Spoilers, as if it mattered...

The Dr is trying to talk an alien out of inciting violence and revolution and war with humans (short form).

In the course of this, he's asking the alien,

What do you really expect to put in its place when you've wiped out the current system? And,

Oooo, it's not fair that you're a minority? Boo hoo! And,

When you're on top, the next bunch will come eat you.

So, it was pretty good, for that. Dr Who goofiness and rubber-suited sucker-covered aliens notwithstanding.

GnuBreed: Conservative Treehouse... If you change your voter registration from Republican to Independent or none, depending on state, you are giving up your voice in the primaries...

For many years after they turned 18, my sons were registered as "Independent." I kept telling them, in Oklahoma, the action is all in the Republican primary. For the same reason, Milady and I were registered as Democrats for the fifteen years we lived in Chicago.

Took a while for political pragmatism to overcome misguided idealism, or whatever their problem was, and I think they're both registered Republican now.

FWIW, which, really, ain't that much anymore, even here.

It worked when I had Plug-Ins turned on and came at it from the plain-vanilla front page.

Too much flashy overhead for me, though, at least this early in the day.
