I jump out of bed, grab flashlight, wander through house. "What has some cat done now?

I find nothing out of place until, in the front room, I see what looks like a large chunk of concrete in the middle of the floor. Turns out to just be a light piece of pumice we had on the shelf. And there's the little wood-and-cloth hammer for my grandmother's Chinese gong from the same shelf also on the floor.

And only the black kitty wandering around, the rest asleep.

I just can't figure out how she made that much noise!

Heard on the radio tonight... Craig Co Okla asst prosecutor and former judge, home alone, had a burglar break in to her rural house ... and she shot the intruder in the chest.

He left and drove off a mile where police found him at a dead end. The road, not him. In hospital, alas, not the morgue. Suspected of several burglaries lately.

Strangest line in the article, sheriff said in her isolated place she had "a very high expectation of safety and privacy." Um, no. Anywhere, anytime, folks.

Don't know what she shot him with, or why she didn't empty it into him, or where in the chest he was hit, but... good for her, anyway. Must've been terrifying.

Realized just the other day that, meaningless as it is, there will be an Oklahoma primary and I will be asked to cast my pitiful vote for one of those dubious dudes or dudette. I will have to move from the Theoretical to the Actual and pick one of Marco, Ben, Chris, Rick, Mike, Carly, Jeb, Donald, Rand, Lindsey, or Ted, all of whom have already filed in the state.

It's little known, but well-documented in YouTube videos, that, years earlier, Kubrick faked the Kennedy assassination. Zapruder, yeah, that was Stanley's work. The "magic bullet" almost gave it away, but fortunately that committee covered everything up. Connelly got a big bonus for his "wounds."

Jack hired Kubrick to do it so that Jack and Marilyn could run off and live together without Jackie suspecting.

Not to make light of a serious condition, but I think maybe someone else, or someones elses, must be having my panic attacks.

Take the serious situation of the nation and world, the economy, unemployment, jihadi threats, creeping tyranny, on and on. Multiply that and apply it on a personal scale and you have my current situation. Sort-of.

And yet I get up each day and go to bed each night thanking God for the blessings, and presuming that if I keep taking care of what I can do, and keep praying about that which I can't seem to do, most of the mountains of difficulty will somehow be removed, even if my faith isn't a fraction of a mustard seed. I've more than once walked the shadowed valley of death and survived. I've sinned to my great regret but feel forgiven. I haven't been brought along this far by mercy just to be forgotten now, I must presume.

Seems t'me I should be more emotional about it all - occasionally, as I contemplate the major things that are wrong and threatening, I can yield to temporary desperation, but I get over it. And I'm not even smoking the wacky weed. Anymore.

Whoever is having my panic, sorry 'bout that.

Day three since I did the roof patching, and no sign of water coming through yet.

Watching Man in the High Castle, an SS officer reminded me of the principal in Ferris Bueller (also Spike in Stay Tuned). I knew it wasn't the same actor, but they do look alike. Sorta. In their iMDB photos, you have to roll Jones back to his Bueller age, and shave and make serious looking Zahara. Sorta.
