Merry Christmas, Weirdos. Looking forward to more weirdness in 2016.
Nice collection of Santa Supers, Ross.
A very merry Christmas to you, and looking forward to a new year of the greatest stories never told but should've been!!
* belllllch *
Sitting around digesting after a very satisfying brunch. Milady made a kind of pudding-ish quiche, new recipe, different, but very tasty. With mushrooms-spinach-onions side dish. And bacon. Son said, so, mushroom, spinach, onion, bacon quiche... some assembly required.
Disassembly, reassembly, whatever, it was all good.
Attended by daughter, in-town son, out-of-town son, our dog, and out-of-town son's two dogs. Hearty party.
Just need to rest up a bit before tonight's dinner at daughter and in-town son's house. At the moment, we're thinking, dessert may be all we need tonight. And (finally) opening presents.
* excuse me *
Another Christmas video. Would've been more suitable yesterday, I suppose, but for the comic book geeks, who cares? Nuff said! (Um, I haven't actually watched this, so, you're on your own. c/o comicbook.com)

Merry Christmas, True Believers.
What is it about stomping the art thread these days?
That political content, whatever it was, just shows up as a giant gray box for me. Perfect.

Merry Christmas Morning, gracious children of the Almighty!!!
Gifts of service are hard to wrap. Sometimes all you have is little gray boxes.
It's a great gift to have the Horde around. Thanks to Ace, cob loggers, and the best commenters on the web, for this virtual meeting house.
First they passed PP funding in the Omniverous bill. Then, they plan to pass bills to de-fund it. Which Obama can veto, and they can say they tried.
Well, Merry Christmas, PoliNationals. Merry Christmas.

Speaking of science...
Just overheard Milady talking to daughter in the kitchen: "The way I'd do that recipe is, first convert it to metric and divide. So, (something something) about half a cup." Whoa!
This is why I stay out of the kitchen when they're at work! That, and sharp implements.
grammie winger: ...10.5 pound ham, and it says bake for 12-15 minutes per pound, how long is that?
Hold on. I know the Ewok's awake, but I gotta figure this out. Soon as I can untangle my shirttail from this here slide rule....
Bitter Clinger: ...how NORAD started tracking Santa...
Thanks for that! Added a link to it from my terrible Christmas song page because related - with a h/t to you, Clinger.
Abdhul: Hah.... you silly Christians... Your NORAD GIVES us tracking data so we can shoot down your SAINT NICK???
No need. the SCOAMF already ordered that.
To reiterate (40-sec video webwork)

Lea: ...ruined the fudge.
Read that to Milady. She "aawwww'd" in sympathy.
Then said, her brother Jack used to make fudge. One year everybody said, that was the best fudge ever.
He said, that's because he burnt the first batch and didn't want to waste it, so, after he made up the second batch, he broke up the first batch and stirred it in.
Had a kind of a... smoky flavor!

FS: ...one of my favorite memories of Christmas was when the boy was young enough to do the NORAD tracking for Santa; he was so excited.
I remember Dad coming into the bedroom I shared with my brother, late on Christmas Eve, to give us the NORAD report on Santa's progress.
I remember the year one of our daughter's friends told her the "truth" about Santa. She was old enough (if one can ever be) that it wasn't too bad. We gave her the "now you get to be Santa, too, for little kids" talk.
FenelonSpoke: I thought the song was funny, MWW, and I liked hearing your accent. ...
Glad you could appreciate it, FS, but... Accent? What 'r y'all talkin' 'bout?
Next year, maybe I'll get around to doing my (non-porny!) Rudolph parody.
agh - I reply to an old comment back upthread then see BurtTC said about the same immediately after the old comment. Better lurk til I get caught up!
Lizzy: Latest on PP shooter: claims his jailers are poisoning him, that he fears becoming a zombie, and wants to fire his lawyers and represent himself in court.
See? Just your average Tea Party guy.
Back from checking out the morning thread. Meh. No Vic News for Christmas Eve. Guess that's okay. He had to anniversarize, after all.

Here's an hour-long video about the Apollo 8 mission (with too much Walter Cronkite, apparently the only news anchor in existence in 1968, but otherwise watchable). The moon landing the next year gets all the historic glory, but this was the first time people went to the moon. I watched it twice yesterday. Very moving. And Christmasy. Even religious! Also, lots of people smoking right there in mission control!

"Christmas Ever tradition," you say, BenK? Hmm.
Morning, Glories! Late start for my day - from staying up late last night. Late to bed, late to rise, Poor Richard something but probably lies. Merry Christmas Ever, y'all!

Fresh-baked last night in the Mindful Webworkshop, a short but sour little Christmas ditty I wrote in 1991 and finally got around to recording. For some reason.
The Terrible Christmas Song

A darkly humorous video that will surely make you say, "Well, that's 40 seconds of my life I'm never getting back!"
