Happy New Year's, crazytown.
Here is a New Year's Eve thought to ensure a great new beginning now.
Saint Paul says, "...walk in newness of life" (Romans 6:4).
What does that mean?
It simply means to get rid of all those old barnacles that have encrusted you for so long: resentments, dishonesties, rationalizations, fears, weaknesses, and so on. These must all go, so that you may "walk in newness of life."
When you're new, you feel like walking, head up, standing tall, for you have fresh new power.
That God may reactivate your life so that you may "walk in newness of life," why not just be done with some things. Get so tired of the old, so fed up with it, that you are done with it.
If you've been full of fear, be done with being full of fear.
If you've been full of error and defeat, be done with it.
Say, "By God's grace, I'm done with it," and take charge of yourself like never before.
And for certain, it will be a Happy New Year for you.
-Norman Vincent Peale, "Have a Great Day Every Day"
grammie winger: ...My word for the year is "thankfulness"...
AllenG: ...Huh. If someone had a blog, he might have posted about just that idea not long ago...
Enjoyed that. Even linked to it on here. Like this:

Being the shy 'n' 'umble type, I naturally did not mention my own ramble from a decade ago, "Be Sure to Say Thank You." Naturally.

Prediction and resolution:
Mindful Webworks turns twenty in March. I will spruce up the site and start adding more content.
Also, I resolve to eat more Oklahoma beef, read more books, and vote early and often.
Back from reading the tail-end of the ONT.
Vic (ONT): The NYPD says Times Square will be the safest place in the world tonight.
Yeah, right. Terror threats notwithstanding, there's A) NYC. 2) Crowds.
Contrast with, home, home on the range.
Now, off to feed the pesks, see about some coffee, then catch up on comments here.
Back in a Few again.

Back in a Few.
Now, that's art!
Morning, Glories! Happy seventh day of Christmas!
Once this day is finished, 2015 will be gone forever.
Then...
we have another day.
Reproductive instincts, tv tech, computer os, taxes...
think I'll give this up, sleep, and see if tomorrow is better than was today.
Good night, Gracies.
Safe at home. Where it's safe to drink.
Lauren: Because I don't know how to do the youtube short link...
Well, underneath any YouTube video there's a "share" button which shows you the youtu.be short link, so it's reeeally complicated. ; )
...and...it doesn't matter?
I generally don't click some link knowing it's YouTube. As a rule I just download vids to avoid actually going to their pages. because then Google Spyware logs what they think I see. But (a) that's just me and (2) someone said on this topic this morning, "I was told there'd be no learning on this blog," so, never mind maybe.
Why? Because it's a really good video that takes the actual words from an abortionist in a way that is attention grabbing, thus highlighting what was actually said.
I had meant to say, what's my incentive, other than that it's from Lauren!! Don't know how that got lost.
And I did gather from subsequent comments what it was - my usual, if not always reliable, method of wait-and-see if it's something I'd want to watch.
And, despite your recommendation, it really isn't. At least, tonight. I've already had my fill of ugly for the day. Maybe tomorrow in the light of day.
Lauren: Everyone stop what you're doing right now and watch this.

"Watch"?
First of all, if it's a youtube, why not use the youtube short link? (My gripe of the week)
Secondly, why? Not to be snarky, but what's my incentive to suddenly leave the comfort of these little gray boxes full of people for some video?
Finally, Rock Music for $200: The answer is, Zappa, Lennon, and Ono
Okay, that last was going to be a separate comment, but it's time for me to move from urban to rural and I may not be back for a while.
Carry on my wayward morons.
BeckoningChasm: You know what's fun? Driving over eight hours in pouring rain and electrical storms. That's what's fun. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
I have driven on tractionless ice, through blinding blizzards and torrential rain, in all kinds of conditions and traffic. But one of the most memorable terrific moments was
driving from Chicago back to Oklahoma, many years ago, in those rolling hills just east of St Louis,
the lightning, just lightning, coming so fast and continuously and in all directions, I actually gave up and exited, and took a nap on the back-on ramp for a while.
I didn't really think we'd get struck or anything. It was just ... overwhelming.
The power of... all those words... vs one picture...
Not... necessarily intellectual power, mind you...
If you could be any alien-extraterrestrial from science-fiction, how many light-years in a tootsie roll pop?
I dunno why. Beat just saying howdy.
Howdy.

Oh Em Gee, as the kids say. I thought the folks at Ace were kidding about this. It's real?!!?

Ugh. I just had to deal with, basically, this

You know, occasionally I'll click a link from some known and trusted Moron or 'ette who says "I'll just leave this here," or, certainly, an Anna Puma jpg link, but I'm getting to the point where I just don't care enough to click on a no-description link, especially to YouTube.
(I rarely watch a YouTube online, so it doesn't track my usage, and if I want to check out what it is, I start a download and wait for the title to show up, but that's a small hassle I'd rather avoid.)
Even worse is some TinyURL which actually ends up going to YouTube (which has it's own short links, FYI, folks - see Share button on vid pages).
Sharkman's Theory of Thread Relativity..., which postulates that all threads ultimately should, in a sane universe, devolve into either a movie thread or a Motorhead thread...
What? I thought it was guns after #100.

Something's wrong here.
Re old vidgames, I may have mentioned this already recently, but here I go again.
Back in the early part of this century, we briefly ran a small sort-of Internet Cafe' - we had two then-top-of-the-line video gaming machines ... and an old 8086 that played, mainly, Dig-Dug.
Guess which had kids crowding around watching someone play!
I was going to mention this to you, but I figured you’d catch this one yourself.
This is a particularly powerful indictment of “feminism,” and a remarkable case of personal enlightenment.
