Aw, go ahead and break their rhythm. I do it alla time, adding essentially nothing to the conversation. Like, for example, this very comment.

I can testify especially to the getting ignored part! Although, it's not necessarily the worst. Make a typo, leave an unclosed tag, or (shudder) be careless about your phrasing, inadvertently saying something suggestive, and you'll feel like you've been thrown to the lions.
