His band were unwittingly at the centre of one of the bloodiest massacres to happen on European soil in a century.
Now, almost four months after 89 people were killed by Islamic extremists at their concert, Eagles of Death Metal singer Jesse Hughes has expressed suspicion about security at the event.
Speaking to Fox Business Network, he suggested that around six guards at the Bataclan concert hall in Paris “had a reason” not to show up for work on the night of the attack.
He refused to elaborate any further out of “respect” for the police inquiry, but said he had already been concerned about staff at the venue.…

Two significant rulings by the National Labor Relations Board in 2015 expanded the interpretation of the “joint employer” rule. Joint employer is a designation given when two firms are involved in the employment practices of an employee.… The real fight here has nothing to do with righting alleged wrongs. The ultimate goal is a unionized fast food work force. … NLRB general counsel Richard Griffin admits that the NLRB action … is all about the Service Employees International Union’s “Fight for $15” wage push. … How will this affect the nation’s 780,000 franchises that provide 9 million jobs? Likely not in a good way. …

The ancient al-Qarawiyyin Library in Fez isn’t just the oldest library in Africa. Founded in 859, it’s the oldest working library in the world, holding ancient manuscripts that date as far back as 12 centuries. But modern life had taken a toll on the library, with its buildings falling into disrepair. That’s why in 2012, the Moroccan Ministry of Culture asked TED Fellow and architect Aziza Chaouni to rehabilitate the library…

The Tick might be on his way back to television if new reports are to be believed. Amazon has ordered a pilot for the new series, with Ben Edlund back in the fold as writer and producer and Barry Josephson as executive producer.
Unfortunately actor Patrick Warburton, who played the big blue lug in the previous live action series is not going to be reprising his role, as he has a new series, Crowded, on NBC. He will be included as an executive producer, and hopefully, they can find someone to fill his big blue shoes.…

People Die
My mother passed away tonight. I’d sat with her since 6 am and she held on, with morphine easing her distress. I finally left at 10, after giving her a kiss and saying good-bye — and she died ten minutes later. I don’t believe the timing was a coincidence.…

US Judicial Branch
WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. James Lankford accused Democrats of hypocrisy Wednesday for insisting that the Supreme Court vacancy be filled during a presidential election year.
Lankford, R-Oklahoma, also vowed that Republicans would ensure President Barack Obama can’t appoint someone to the high court during a Senate break.
In a speech on the Senate floor, Lankford said, “We will also not allow a recess appointment.
“That has been floated multiple times in the media — that the president will just do a recess appointment and go around us. The Senate chooses when the Senate is in recess. Not the president. So we can do this. We can remain in continuous session without recess to prevent a recess appointment by this president through the rest of this year.…”

The Public Prosecutor in the Netherlands has finally released the list of charges that Geert Wilders will face in his upcoming trial. They are:
1. Deliberately insulting a group of people because of their race; and
2. Inciting hatred or discrimination against these people.
Mr. Wilders is being charged with four variants of each of these offenses — complicity, commit, incitement and “doing it complicity”.
In other news, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, and Macedonia have now announced that they will close their borders, effectively shutting off the migration route through Greece to Central Europe. This action was undertaken with EU approval, which is surprising, given that just a few weeks ago the European Commission told Austria it was violating international law and the human rights of migrants by limiting the number of “refugees” that could cross its borders every year.… …
Female residents of the northern Swedish town of Östersund have been warned by police officials not to leave their homes at night, after six recent incidents in which unaccompanied women were viciously attacked by men of “foreign appearance”. There is no official indication that these brutal incidents had anything to do with either Islam or mass immigration.
In other news, more than 1,300 new cases of Female Genital Mutilation were reported in England over a three-month period, according to the government’s health statistics agency.…
