China Declares Air Defense Zone Over Japanese Claimed Islands. Warns of Action Against Aircraft Over Disputed Sea

China's declared defense zone

China has demarcated an "air-defence identification zone" over an area of the East China Sea, covering islands that are also claimed by Japan.

China's Defence Ministry said aircraft entering the zone must obey its rules or face "emergency defensive measures".

The islands, known as Senkaku in Japan and Diaoyu in China, are a source of rising tension between the countries.

Japan lodged a strong protest over what it said was an "escalation".

BBC quoted by (and many other related links at) War News Updates, whose blogger comments, "This is an incredibly dangerous escalation. The following questions then begs an answer … will China shoot down a Japanese (or even an American) aircraft if it flies through this region?"

U.S. Officials Are Surprised On China's Growing Ability To Strike U.S. Bases, Ships And Aircraft Throughout The Pacific

...the Chinese are "rapidly expanding and diversifying" their ability to strike U.S. bases, ships and aircraft throughout to the Pacific, including those in places like Guam that were previously out of reach. The report's release comes as the U.S. simultaneously increases the frequency with which it interacts with the Chinese military, and blasts the country for hacking into U.S. computer networks to steal secrets.

ForeignPolicy.com quoted by War News Updates, whose editor comments, "I am surprised that U.S. officials are surprised by these Chinese developments."

Why Are U.S. Taxpayers Funding China's Nuclear Security

The Obama administration is funding a joint nuclear security center in Beijing designed to stem nuclear weapons proliferation — despite recent state-run media reports showing Beijing’s plans to hit U.S. cities with nuclear missiles that would kill millions of Americans during a conflict.

Communism is not that kind of party, dude!

20th Century's main cause of death & continuing.

When I was young, I observed that a precious few nuts wanted to get behind the Iron Curtain, while the bodies on the barbed wire at the Berlin Wall testified how mortally desperate many were to get out.

That seemed clear.

Never had reason to revise that image's lesson, only reinforced.

North Koreans, mourning, starving, parading

During Nam, I understood the protesters against an unfair draft, corporatized warfare, and thoughtless jingoism, but protesting these things got conflated with (or hijacked by) anti-war, pro-Communist, anti-American ideologues. All I could think was, had they not seen the bodies at the wall as I had?

Boat people escaping Communist Viet Nam

When the slaughter and torture of our abandoned SVN allies inevitably occurred, 'told you so' was awfully cold comfort.

Grab your muskets and come a-runnin'!

The regulars are coming!

Y'know the saying, gun control is hitting what you aim at?

A well regulated militia is responsive because you have an informed citizenry. Well-armed and ready, obviously. Expected to be able to hit what they aim at, implicitly. Able to aim coordinatedly, preferably.

But importantly, when you call out, "The redcoats are coming!" you don't have to explain who the redcoats are, or why that announcement means, "Grab your muskets and come a-runnin'."

Update terms as needed.

TSA Gropers
Why would we need an old-fashioned militia in this day and age? That's silly.

Oh, well, there's this.

Politico headline: Arming TSA officers hits resistance on the Hill
Breitbart headline: Capitol Hill Resists Union's Call for Armed TSA Agents
Drudge headline (linked to Politico): Union moves to arm TSA agents...

Notice how Politico focuses exclusively on "Capitol Hill," Breitbart also puts the focus on "Capitol Hill" while mentioning that upon which Drudge exclusively focuses, the armed Union members angle.

That crazy Drudge guy!

Well, and then there's this.

DHS to Hire "Top Secret" Domestic Security Force

Of course, that's on Infowars. That Alex Jones, what a certifiable tinfoil-hat loon! And what would we have to fear from the TSA or a secret domestic security force? All of these things just tell us how safe we are.

Right?

Now, about militias.
