Problems From Not Eating Meat

Researchers from the University of Graz Study, found that adults who consume vegetarian diet, are less healthy (in terms of cancer, allergies, and mental health disorders), have a lower quality of life, and also require more medical treatment.

This study also concluded that vegetarians are more often ill, have cancer and heart attacks more often, and have a lower quality of living than meat-eaters.

The researchers also found that vegetarians were twice as likely to suffer for anxiety or depressions than big meat eaters (9.4% to 4.5%).

The study involved 1320 participants who were divided into 4 groups of 330 persons each. The 4 groups were:

1) Vegetarian
2) Carnivorous diet rich in fruits and vegetables
3) Carnivorous diet less rich in meat
4) Carnivorous diet rich in meat

All groups were comparable with respect to gender, age, and socio-economic status. The study also accounted for smoking and physical activity. Also the BMI was within the normal range for all four groups (22.9 - 24.9).
