About the song: The idea originally arose from repeated experience of lost conversation threads on computer message boards on Compuserve, back before most people (including myself) had heard of a WWW.
About the MP3: This is my first published MP3. I could've waited until I had a decent recording. But I didn't. This recording began as an audiocassette tape recording made in March of 2001. When transferring the tape to computer, I didn't notice that the cassette's variable-speed knob was high, so the whole recording was a little helium-ish. After filtering out the hiss, I lowered the pitch to (almost) simulate what my voice is supposed to sound like. Audio wizardry done with [*]Cool Edit 96 (long since gobbled up by Adobe). WAV file encoded into MP3 with [*]CDEX.
