================== Tic^4 3DSL by RaddDadd Upshaw http://www.mindfulwebworks.com/second-life/tic4.html "This ain't no baby's game!" ver001 rev011 ================== OBJECT of Tic^4: Tic-Tac-Toe in a 4x4x4 matrix. Four in a row in any direction wins. Win may be vertical, horizontal, or diagonal through any dimension. NOTE: The game has a sensor perimeter of 20M and whispers announcements to a 10M radius. ================== SIGN UP for Tic^4: Each of two players in turn signs up by touching a color of the rainbow object. The first to have touched a color plays first. A player must be within the perimeter for a touch to be acknowledged. The first touched color fades (and no longer responds to a touch) while waiting for a second player to choose a color. However, while only one player has signed up, after about 30 seconds without a second player's touch, the rainbow resets to no-players. The rainbow will also reset if the first player leaves the perimeter before a second player joins. ================== PLAYING Tic^4: Each player in turn touches an unplayed sphere on the board. First player to get 4 in a row in any direction wins. Wins are possible in up to 7 of 76 different directions. (If you win in 7 directions at once, your opponent was probably trying hard to lose.) During play, the current player can touch the flat planes and they will rotate through 3 different positions. The board consists of 64 spheres, in a 4x4x4 layout. Unplayed spheres appear as translucent grey. When a sphere is played, it becomes opaque and the player's color. During play, either player forfeits by leaving the perimeter or may quit by touching the control box. The current player forfeits by making no play for 3 minutes. Floating text above the control box keeps timeout displays during setup and play. ================== Game checks for win or stalemate after every move. AFTER A WIN, the rainbow returns and the winning player is permitted to choose a color first. IF A STALEMATE OCCURS, the rainbow returns, with no player set. ONE MAY PLAY AGAINST ONESELF, in which case, by whatever way the game is terminated, the rainbow returns with no player set. ================== PLANNED: Hand out info/rules notecard Stats & history Linethrough marks each win BELLS & WHISTLES IN MIND: IM a player whose turn it is? Better definition of boardspace than current 4 planes? Different control box mechanism like seats for players?
