   1.
G
I'm feelin' high and I hope you are too
Em
since we' been smokin' that New Mexico Blue
C
But now it's gone and I want to get higher
   G
We smoked it all and I'm filled with desire

   G
I want to sit down and smoke me a bowl
             C C7
'Cause it moves my mind and it moves my soul
       G Am C7 G D
You know I got the Empty Baggie Blues
   2.
G
Stop thinkin' about your past
Em
When it's one thing that will not last
          C
It's like gettin' high on your very last dime
    G
You won't be there again for a very long time

   G
I want to sit down and light me a jay
             C C7
'Cause it rolls me up and it blows me away
       G Am C7 G
You know I got the Empty Baggie Blues

New Mexico Blue was worth a song, anyway. 'Twas decades ago, up at the old dome, whose wizardly master introduced this herbal inhalable. Just one ordinary silvery-blue leaf ignited in the then-new gandalfpipe was all one person needed. Extraordinary. Does it still exist today?

Empty Baggie Blues -- by Tom Allen (used with brotherly presumption). Slight assist by Don on the 2nd chorus lyrics. Might have had some revision when I typed it up around 1991. First web publication ©2001 Oct 27. Reposted 2002 May 01. Published to mindfulwebworks.com 2007 Apr 02.
